I consider myself a connosieur of the diet beverage. My #1 is Diet Pepsi, followed closely by diet sprite.

I
was at the Home Depot and thirsty, and they had "Coke Zero" in
there. Now, I've had bad experiences with Pepsi One and Diet Coke
with Splenda, but I was willing to give it a shot.

Holy CRAP.

It
tastes EXACTLY like Coke. Not diet coke, regular good ol' Coke
Classic... and I haven't drank a regular cola beverage by choice in
over 5-6 years.

Anyone have any other favorite diet beverages, or your own experience with Coke Zero?

I go for the "sugar-free" energy drinks (Red Bull, Sobe Adrenaline
Rush), and have become a huge fan of sparkling water: Gerolsteiner,
Perrier, San Pellegrino. Cold with a twist, please!

But if it has to be diet soda, Diet Dew is my fav.

I don't hate myself, so I drink regular soda if I drink soda at all.

another prolem w/ diet sodas vs regular soda is people who drink diet sodas tend to gain weight more readily then those who drink the sugary stuff. Go figure.

diet or regular doesn't matter. it's all about carbonation for me when i'm thirsty. you drink it down til the carbonation becomes too much and you can't take anymore. that seems to quench the thirst

and i hate flavored water with no carbonation. it's like drinking flat soda Yucky Doodle!

My choice is Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. If you haven't at
least tried it then you must pick up some the next time you go to the
supermarket.

I don't know about the rest of you
but after years of drinking diet soda I not only prefer it but I can't
drink regular anymore. It is too sugary for my tastes.

Honorable Mention:

1. Caffeine Free Diet Coke with a splash of lemon juice

2. Diet Coke with Vanilla

3. Diet Spriet with a splash of lemon and lime juice

4. Diet Sunkist

Actually - Coke Zero SHOULD taste like New Coke. Regular Diet Coke is the diet version of Coke Classic. Then of course there is Diet Coke with splenda, and all the stupid vanilla/lemon/lime variants. Far too many.

I do like coke zero, though. Diet pepsi is too fizzy and the taste is too sharp for me.

I've gotten pretty use to the diet soda aftertaste, and don't mind it too much. I do love a regular coke every once and awhile (like at movie theatre, or if I'm sick - go figure). But beyond that, much of the time I prefer the diets.

Diet Dr. Pepper - the "KOP" as far as I'm concerned (King of Pop)

Diet Dr. Pepper without caffine

Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper (or is it Diet Vanilla Cherry Dr. Pepper?)

Diet Pepsi

Diets Pepsi/Coke without caffine

Diet Rite - regular or Dark Cherry (mmm! MMMM!) - no caffine either. The only Diet Soda I actually lost weight while drinking, btw.

I didn't care for the Diet Coke Zero, but I'll give it another shot.

And if they made Snapple as affordable as soda, I'd be grabbing them too - but as it is, I can sometimes get a special on two 12 packs of a diet soda for around 5 bucks.
I'd rather have hope in my soul than soap in my hole...

I'm with the anti-diet soda sentiment. It's absolutely hideous tasting, and is barely better than a placebo for fat people. Honestly, if you actually adjust your diet to one that's mostly healthy, having a regular soda once or twice a day or so is nothing. Put down the fucking cookies and have a regular Coke, goddammit. If you're so concerned about soda being bad for you, do like WhistlePig said and go for the water, or some juice without a lot of sugar. Why punish yourself with diet soda?

I'm not saying not drink the stuff at all, just in moderation. Having a Gatorade or two a day isn't terrible...having five or six is pretty excessive. Same goes for soda. Even if you're cutting out the sugar, all that carbonation plays havoc on your digestion. Seriously, try limiting or cutting off your soda intake for a week or so and feel how differently your stomach and digestive system reacts to what you eat.

Personally, I love that they have all these carbonated flavored waters...it's basically like fruit juice with bubbles and no sugar or carbs or anything else. Good stuff.

I know everyone's taste is different, but man, diet sodas make me cringe. It's so bitter and harsh compared to the regular stuff.

And look, at the end of the day, DRINK MORE WATER. It does a body good.

Diet Coke addict - buy the 20oz by the case at Sam's Club. Regular Coke tastes too sweet to me. Don't like Coke Zero for exactly that reason. Can't stand the caffeine-free version either - the taste is noticably different.

Diet Dr. Pepper (plus the vanille/cherry versions) is not bad.
Fresca - Love the bite (and yes it does mix great with vodka or gin) Just tried the new Peach - pretty good.
No-Cal - new brand I've been seeing lately - comes in Cherry Lime, Vanilla, Chocolate, Orange - Tried all but the Chocolate and all are good along the lines of Diet Stewarts (which is also very good)
Diet Stewarts - all good and not much different from the regular flavors.

I do like the Dasani flavored waters. Nice change when you're really thirsty on a really hot day and the thought of carbonation is nauseating.
