A Problem Solvers investigation has discovered that several Web sites
will sell the last 100 phone numbers you have dialed to anyone who
knows your phone number.
The report found that sites like Locate Cell will sell the private phone numbers for about $100.Once
the fee is paid on the Web sites, anyone can get access to the phone
numbers, including bank, doctor and work numbers, Local 6 News reported. The Web sites are not illegal, according to the report.

Ok, it's a minor invasion of privacy..but someone's gonna call my doctor and say what? Or get my bank's auto teller...and what? This is more of a news staion trying to scare the public with an expose of ...nothing.

I agree with Bulldog. I'm not a paranoid/conspiracy guy but, stuff like this definitely IS a cause for concern.

You could dial a wrong number. Or accidentally dial a number that you didn't intend to. Or a friend could borrow your phone to call HIS girlfriend/booty call/drug dealer. Or somebody could play a joke on you and dial a "naughty" number. Or disgruntled employee of yours could dial some wacky child porn sex-line with your phone. Or...whatever. In the end, it's logging numbers...not actions. If somebody is just looking at the actual numbers dialed-out of context- it could be a problem for the owner of the phone.

There probably are a few examples of how it could be used to actually HELP people IE: somehow locating missing/lost children but, I think the number potentially negative uses is just too great.

LOUD NOISES!!

Bottom line is that it's none of their business, and how can they make money off of someone without paying them? Privacy will continue to grow as an issue in the coming years, and rightfully so.

This seems like something jealous wives would use to check up on their husbands. Maybe pay phones will come back in vogue now.
