On my iPod, I have a cover song playlist, and would love to add more to it. I'm a big fan of a good cover song, especally where the artist(s) singing the song are someone you wouldn't expect to sing the song (such as Epic singing Easy) or put a different twist or expression of the song (like Fountains of Wayne singing .. Baby Hit Me One More Time).

What are some of your favorite cover songs?

Right now the favorites on my playlist are:

The aforementioned Easy by Epic and Hit Me One More Time by Fountains of Wayne

You'e Got To Hide Your Love Away by Eddie Vedder

The Scientist by Aimee Mann

Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm

Mexican Radio by Authority Zero

I hate to admit it, but I always really liked that version of "Smooth Criminal" that Alien Ant Farm did. Very upbeat and catchy. I mean it helps that I always liked the Bad album and own it, but that cover was good.

Earth Wind & Fire - Got To Get You Into My Life (Beatles)
Metallica - Turn the Page (Bob Seger)
Motley Crue - Helter Skelter (Beatles)
Van Halen - Girl You Really Got Me (The Kinks)

I'm not much of a fan of any of the above bands, both original artist and coverer (besides VH and Seger) but those are all up there on my list.
