I'm relatively certain this is a hoax or urban legend, in fact <a href="http://www.snopes.com/movies/films/ozsuicid.htm" target="_blank">Snopes.com</a> has even ruled it as false, however I can't find one friggin image on the internet to see with my own eyes. Has anyone heard of this or know more about this?Suicide of a Munchkin? A story about a munchkin appearing in a scene from the Wizard of Oz hanging himself surfaced about the end of the 1980's. The story goes that one of the male little people playing the part of a munchkin was madly in love with a female little person also playing one of the munchkins. She did not feel the same way and he was so disappointed that he hanged himself. The hanging is visible in the film. The scene mentioned is at the end of the Tinman scene - where Dorothy and the Scarecrow first meet and free the Tinman. After the Wicked witch has thrown fire at them and they've all danced around happily for a while and sung a bit and decided to dance off to Oz you can see in the background behind the trees a shape moving about. This is the supposed munchkin dying. If someone has a screenshot of this stupid thing please post it. I don't have the movie so I can't check it myself. It's amazing to me that there are thousands of websites devoted to this, and no one can make a simple screenshot of this thing.

I'm pretty sure it just turned out to be a crane in the background holding up something, you can't really see anything definitive.

It doesn't show up very well in a still image - and I have seen one before online, but can't seem to get one now. Snope has the 12 second video clip, though, and even in the context of the movie it's hard to tell, but it does look more like a crane than a hanging Munchkind ~ SPEAKING of "cranes," my personal favorite "oops" in Wizard of Oz is when Dorothy is leaving Munchkinland, and there's a swooping crane shot (not the bird, but the camera rig) and on the yellow brick road you can briefly see, very clearly (especially on the big screen) the shadow of the camera men. 

I'd rather have hope in my soul than soap in my hole...

Yeah, we argued aboot this whole "Donald Duck says the word 'nigger'" a long time ago.  I was, and still am, one of those people that reeeally hears it.  To my ears, it's "nigger" clear as day.If he said "niggA", I suppose that would've been okay.  But he put the "er" on the end of it and that's just plain wrong. Defranco all the way.
