View Full Version : OEM Microsoft Software

Everything on my new comp is complete except for my OS. I’ve
seen a few sites now, like on tiger direct and zipzoomfly OEM Windows 64 for
like 89 bucks. Just wondering if anyone has ever bought OEM software from any
of these sites or in general especially Microsoft software.

OEM software is fine as long as you get it from a reputable site. Those two are fine. Just be aware, you don't get a manual with OEM versions.

There is usually a requirement that you have to purchase a piece of hardware with the OEM software. Used to be something major like a motherboard or cpu, but they have eased those requirements. Now it can be virtually anything. I haven't seen 64-bit windows pro for anything less than $139. $89 usually gets you XP Home (32-bit). This is in line with the wholesale pricing I get from distributors.

I prefer to use newegg.com. Never had a problem.
