I don't really like O'Reilly but after listening to this exchange, I have to say Letterman came off badly. He's the one who kept pushing this confrontation but he couldn't debate the facts so he resorted to personal attacks and name calling. Very amateurish.

What has happened to David Letterman? In the 80's he was the best thing out there, no one was better than him (in my opinion). He has become the type of hack entertainer he himself used to mock mercilessly. Retreading old tired bits, no more pre-taped out of the studio segments.

Now he's turned into Barbra Streisand attacking people he doesn't agree with politically.

I thought the interview was great. Stirring the Bills coffee cup with a pencil was classic. O'reilly is full of shit. The song lyrics to Silent Night that were changed happened in 1998 to fit a Christmas play with a winter theme. As usual, Bill distorts the facts as if it happened only yesterday. Letterman can spot a phony a mile away. Would you rather watch a Leno/O'reily interview?

I love the part where Dave tells Bill to also be careful what he says and questions Bill about losing loved ones in armed conflicts. Bill replies no and Dave then says "you can hardly speak for her then can you?" Crowd loves it and Dave says mockingly, "Let's go back to your little red and green stories." Classic moment and I loved it. I haven't a clue how someone here thinks Dave didn't do a good job with this. I love it and admire him for it.

And when Dave says "I'm very concerned about people like yourself who don't have nothing but endless sympathy for a woman like Cindy Sheehan..... Honest to Christ." And Bill as Dave ends this statement sneaks in a, "No I'm sorry." Shaking his head the whole time. Dave again, "Honest to Christ." I loved the horid look on Bill's face when Dave put it that way. It doesn't matter what the topic is, Bill will however have nothing but endless sympathy for the Bush administration. Funny how that works.

This was great - Letterman can barely hold together his contempt for O'Reilly. Anyone who has seen him interview news people and politicians knows that he is a media/politics junkee, and you can just see his disgust that this is where we've come with discourse, even with his own part in it - from William Buckley & Gore Vidal to Bill O'Reilly & David Letterman. Dave nailed him eight different ways to Sunday.
I'd rather have hope in my soul than soap in my hole...

Yet we're talkiing about Bill O, not her husband, kids or the your snow globe.
Statistically, parents of murdered children are more likely to end up divorced or seperated after their child's death.

The same could be said for parents murdered by their children.....at least the seperated part.
