How long are R&F under contract for at XM? Any chance they could pull a Radio Chick and return to free radio?

But I was thinking to myself that if they waited they could have landed a prime national spot. That is taking into consideration that the company would have given them a shot. I'm not even sure if it would be considered a step-up to have taken Stern's slot. I'm being both cheap and selfish in not wanting to pay for radio to hear the boys.

You pay with 20-plus minutes of commercials per hour on free radio.
I'm not a bad person, I just do bad things.

Ok, now, if you listen to some of the Free FM shows, you hear alot
about how much it sucks that they can't certain things or talk about
certain concepts. It's the reason Howard left, and it's why O and
A chose XM. That's bad enough. But then to add on going
back to Infinity, and combine it with the pressure to be Howard Stern
part Deux, not to mention that Ron and Fez haven't worked 6am shows in
years and prob don't want to?

to summarize.... worst idea ever.

Knowing the freedoms that they have now.. I dont think they would ever wanna go back to FREE radio. I would rather pay what ever it is than listen to COMMERCIALS every 15 minutes. Not to mention they are heard COAST to COAST.. They are even more HUGE than b4 !

it wuld have been kinda cool if they had the option....mornings in NY vs unknown amount of listeners nationwide = tough call

the whole uncertainty is the future of both....free fm and satellite

would have made some real good speculation......instead the Radio chick is the biggest name on the station

It would NOT be a national show like it is now. Infinity broke their mornings up into sections if I'm not mistaken. Broke the country up into regions that hear certian jocks. So Ron and Fez would only get a small area compared to the national and Canadian exposure they have now.

Matty brought out some great points, but to simply play devil's advocate, like I loves to do, some possible valid points - DLR is not a long term solution - the Radio Chick did go back to terestrial - no one knows what the next year will bring to anyone in radio - radio careers are as organic and stable as wind across sand - R&F burned no bridges when they left - they talk about all the time they have friends everywhere - morning is the best, best, best timeslot for a radio show - they have a following in NYC second (or third?) only to Stern & O&A, which is sayinig something. I don't see a situation where they would leave satellite, nor want to, but terestrial radio really isn't going to just go away - there are big companies with a lot invested in them. I wouldn't be surprised if the two sides (terestrial & sat) come together more to share the talent. Would that be R&F? Who knows, but it's always fun to try and second guess.

They need someone opposite DLR that will disagree with him. All those
folks there laugh at his jokes and comments like he was Pres. Bush or
something.
