I hate the US Postal Service.

<p>I
have already documented my accident and my quest to get a new ride.&nbsp; My
brother presented me with the option to take over the lease on his
truck.</p>
<p>I agreed.&nbsp; The only thing that had to be done was to send
a credit application in to the bank that issued the lease.&nbsp; Now, I was
a little upset that I couldn't fax in the application, or do it over
the internet - I had to mail it.</p>
<p>And since it was to a PO Box, I had to use the US Postal Service.</p>
<p>So
on December 30th, I filled out everything I needed, and sprinted over
to the post office that was open the latest in my area.&nbsp; I wanted to
get it out immediately so I could get a quick turnaround and get my
truck.&nbsp; I sent it Priority Mail with a delivery confirmation.&nbsp; Now, I
pretty much send NOTHING through the USPS now - I pay all my bills
online and if I need to send something, I usually send it UPS Ground. &nbsp;</p>
<p>Problem #1 - &quot;Does this give me tracking?&quot;&nbsp; Guy at window: &quot;Yes
sir.&nbsp; The computer estimates it'll be there on Tuesday
(1/3).&nbsp; <br />
</p>
<p><strong>LIE!</strong></p>
<p>Problem #2.&nbsp; It's not there on Tuesday 1/3.&nbsp;
It's not there on Wednesday 1/4.&nbsp; It's not there on Thursday 1/5.&nbsp; Now
I'm getting nervous.</p>
<p>Well, guess what, gang?</p>
<p>A letter I sent - with the most sensitive personal information possible - IS NOW FUCKING LOST.&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I am pissed BEYOND BELIEF that this is missing.&nbsp; If it was a
check or something that could be easily voided or cancelled,
fine.&nbsp; But it's my fucking SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER AND OTHER
PERTINENT INFO that I have NO IDEA where the fuck it is and who has it!!</p>
<p>And it's not even like it was going to some out-of-the-way town.&nbsp; IT WAS GOING TO TAMPA.</p>
<p>This is ABSOLUTELY unexcusable. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>I am going to go into the post office where I sent it tomorrow to
have a chat with the Postmaster General.&nbsp; I will be letting him
know that I will be holding him and his office responsible for the
worst possible security breach imaginable for an individual, and unless
that letter is delivered - undamaged and unopened to it's destination -
he and his company are going to be the ones paying for all of the
identity theft protection I'm going to need because of his company's
screwup.<br />

<p>That is the ONE THING that really pisses me off.&nbsp; A company sells you a guarenteed delivery date.&nbsp; But when they fall short of their own guarentee, it's a song and a dance to get ANYTHING back from them.&nbsp; You don't just want the 10 dollars or whatever you spent, you want to know where the fuck your important info is and what they're doing about finding it.&nbsp; The answer is &quot;They don't know&quot; and &quot;nothing&quot; but I hope they at least lie to you.</p><p>Fucking animals.</p>

defense, it wasn't a &quot;guaranteed&quot; date.&nbsp; They ESTIMATED it would
be there by 1/3, which I was fine with - the office wasn't going to be
open til then away.</p><p>What I'm pissed about is that the guy at the
window KNEW there was sensitive information that needed to be tracked -
he sold me the wrong thing - and now nobody has any fucking idea where
my package is.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Well that sucks.&nbsp; I remember wI sent a check to play The March Metal Meltdown to the guy who took the money and sent you your tickets.&nbsp; I paid almost 20 bucks for whatever service I used, but it was a $1000 check so well worth it.</p><p>So this guy just sold you a lower level service knowing how important it was?&nbsp; That sucks.</p><p>Yea, I'd go and bitch a storm up and down.&nbsp; Get something from them.</p>

<p>OK I work for the Post Office too and we do suck, but we are not any worse than UPS or FEDEX.</p><p>I orderd Omaha steas for my brothers B-day and they said UPS would get it there by Dec 28.</p><p>He got i Jan 3rd and the dry ice was gone and all the food was leaking.</p><p>Oh by the way if you attempt to send sometthing over a holiday weekend your asking for trouble anyway.</p><p>Unfortunate people dont know how much mail is deliverd to each city everyday and our percentage is pretty good.</p><p>Now Ill let WWFALLON tell his christmas delivery story&nbsp;</p>

<p>I ordered a 20in TV/DVD for my mother, they tried to deliver, I wasn't home. So I called them, told them what time I'd be around and they said okay. I get home from work at 11pm and the fucking huge ass box is sitting on my front porch. I don't live in the best neighborhood. I'm lucky it wasn't stolen.</p><p>On top of that my Mother opens it on Christmas and is excited. I put it in her bedroom, hook everything up.... the fucking remote is broken. Ahhhhh. I JUST got the replacment remote in the mail today. Fuckers.&nbsp;</p>

ten,<div>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;don't worry i'm not taking it personally. just a little hint. the next time you need to send something send it express. it's a little more expensive, but if it's not there in 1 to 2 days (depending on which one you choose) the post office has to pay you what you paid to send it. you said that you sent it on 12/30, the clerk should not have told you that it would have been there by 1/3. during a holiday season, the post office will only guarantee dellivery on express packages. and you can track express packages. delivery confirmation is suppose to be used for tracking, but it usually only tells when the package has been delivered. sorry that it took so long for your papers to get there. and if you ever want to send packages (gifts, ect..) never send it by parcel post. parcel post is put on the planes that we use whenever there is extra room. just a reminder that is you need to mail someything that the price to mail a letter is now 39 cents. don't ask me where the extra 2 cents is going, because it's not into my check.</div>

I acutally love the USPS. I've only once had a bill lost in the mail in the 25 years I've been mailing stuff. I can't believe how efficient they really are in all the stuff they have to handle. And it's still incredible it only costs $.39 to send something across the country. And I love the cool stamps they put out. I'm sorry, I have never had a problem with them.&nbsp;

For the amount of pieces these guys move every day, and to have so much of it actually arrive, God bless these loyal men and women.</p><p>Plus, with the bad rep these guys have, if I am late with a payment, I just call up customer service. <p>I though this was going to&nbsp;be a rant about the price increase for stamps.</p><p>I still have like 10 37 cent ones left and i went to 2 Post offices today to try and get either 1 cent or 2 cent stamps and they were both out of them</p><p>Thats awful</p><p>They should have to honor the 37 cents if they cant provide you with the correct ones</p><p>I'm not gonna waster the ones I have </p>
