As far as I know, there's really no way to tell what kind of ratings the show gets. I guess a good way to determine though is by web site hits. Has this site received a substantial amount since the September debut on XM?
I'm an XM subscriber because of them, but I also subscribe to Sirius. I have noticed that since Bubba the Love Sponge debuted last week on Sirius, his fan site has been hard to keep up with. A lot more topics and replies than this site, yet it seems that R&F heavily promote this site.
XM obviously has more subscribers, but just how many are tuning in to hear the buddays?

I don't understand your premise.

You claim you're a fan, but the thread title says "Are R&F as Over as We'd Like to Think?"

If you like them, why would you want them to be "over"?

I think he means it like getting over or more popular.

I'm sure the Mods could easily say how much more traffic this site has gotten since Sept. however, there are plenty of listeners who have probably never been on this site.

Yes, our traffic on this site is way up. We've had some issues with the site at different times because of it. We also had to switch servers to handle the additional traffic.

How much media coverage did Fezzie's heart attack get?

quote: How much media coverage did Fezzie's heart attack get? * align="left">
I don't know about media coverage, but a couple of weeks ago if you typed "Ron and Fez" into the Yahoo search engine, it would suggest at the top of the screen: "Also try Ron and Fez Show, Fez Whatley Heart Attack." It no longer comes up as an option, however at one time enough people were looking into it that it did.
For me, I'd like to find out if there was a way to determine the number of listeners to their show versus the number of people who visit a fan website in a given day (or week) - and compare that percentage between satellite and terestrial radio shows. I have a feeling that because of "narrowcasting" (I was surprised Howard actually used that word on his show) all of these shows (R&F, O&A, Stern, Bubba), that the internet interaction potential is much greater. Not sure how it could be compared - maybe if someone gave me and Moe $350,000 (each) we could take the year off and do research.

For sure Bubba is riding on Howard's coat tails atm. I'm not saying that Bubba isn't talented, I have no idea, I've never heard his show. But with the recent launch of the Howard channels, its not surprising that the websites with related content are getting lots of traffic. Once the novelty dies down, so could the traffic.

On a related note one thing about Ron (not sure about Fez) is that he has said in the past that they do the show they want to do it without too much conscern about growing the show. Thats not the say he's not appreciative of the fans, I mean c'mon, they had an open door policy at the studio. But, unlike other radio personalities that are overtly competitive with other radio talents, Ron and Fez don't give a shit about other hosts. They do their thing. That's the defintion of cool.

I don't like Bubbas show. Not for me. I think he is geared towards the "jeff foxworthy/ u might be a redneck" crowd. There def seems to be an audience for that.

I was listening to The Abbott and Costello Show this morning and I couldn't help but hear Ron and Fez. It was the first time I had heard A&C's old radio show and the way they were talking to each other just reminded me of R&F. Costello sounded a lot like Ron and Abott sounded like Fez. I was half asleep but remember saying to myself that this show is the closest thing to Ron and Fez I have ever heard. IMO nobody else does a show like them -

Arbitron is working on collecting data from Satellite Radio listeners as well; the first report was going to be Fall 05 but its been delayed.

http://www.fmqb.com/article.asp?id=140818

Although, XM does state on its advertising page that Arbitron does measure the audience.
