first let me say this... O&A are funny and great and all that....
but i got XM to listen to R&F, and i NEVER HEAR THESE GUYS!
its always O&A. and when i get in my car to drive home,
i'm at the EXACT part i was when i got in the car to go to work that
same day in O&As show. why do i get a rerun the same
damn day!?!? i'm sure i'm the millionth person to say this, but
why can't R&F get the afternoon drive?

I agree to a point. I got xm to listen to R and F as well, not O and A.

I realize if it wasnt for O and A, that wouldnt be possible, but such was my reason for getting xm.

A possible solution, although I'm not sure how it would work, is for R and F to have their own channel.

OR just divvy up the replay schedule a little more fairly.

Cant E-lo or Wicky see that there was a certain spike of new xm listeners in september?

OnA wanted to have drive time on both coasts ... I bought the Myfi so I can record Ron n Fez ... I know not everyone can afford it, but because of the programming, I put more money in XMs pockets ...

When Ron and Fez 1st moved I was resistant to even getting XM. Then I realized it would be my only way of even possibly hearing them and I got it. I mean I love O&A but Ron and Fez got me to subscribe to Ron and Fez.
Not that I have it, I am a little pissed at the schecule, but it's not too bad. I really enjoy the weekend replays they get, even though I may only have time to hear them an hour at a time. I also listen during the week on my lunch.
You try to get time for them when you can once you have XM. And the option of getting a portable unit that records was also brought up. I'm looking for an inexpensive portable unit just so I can take it into our shop trucks and I'm not stuck with shit FM.

The portables are really affordable right now at 99$ compared to the cheapest unit at 49$ (my numbers could be off slightly but thats what it was around Xmastime). Worth it just for the recording option, and nice to have something that hooks up to the stereo, car stereo or can be used as a walkman. I like both shows equally I can honestly say, only thing you can do is try to feedback XM asking for more replays/diff time slot. Enough people do it.. who knows.

One of the things I really like about Sirius is - that some shows can be replayed on other channels. Why not keep R&F on 202 as is ... then have a drive-home replay on another channel? OR vice versa. If O&A don't want Ron and Fez on 202 drive-home, run the replay on another one of XMs channels.

ok -Im ready - go ahead & bash me.

I would either like to see a regular 4 hour show start at 3pm - OR I would like the replay (of a 4 hour show) to begin at 8pm (est). Yeah, they lose drive time for O&A on either the East Coast or West Coast, but this way they retain mornings for both coasts AND they stand a chance of getting better phone callers for Ron and Fez. If I were XM, and I had a show like R&F that has traditionally done so well with callers, I would want them on a time when they could get the best phone calls they could get.

I don't know why anyone would bash you. Sounds good to me. I don't know enough about Sirius to bash it all out, I just know I hate Stern and am unimpressed with what I hear he's putting together. That does't reflect on the rest of the company, other than the tech issues they have. I mean the whole company sounds boring to me, but that could also be because they're putting Stern front and center everytime Sirius is mentioned.

202 O&A 203 R&F problem solved.

you all realize that Ron and Fez just relatively just STARTED on XM,
and that there is time for them to maybe be moved? and for the 1000th
fucking time IT ISN'T O&A THAT WANT TO BE ON DRIVETIME ON BOTH
COASTS, THAT IS XM'S DECISION!!!! O&A even SAID this many
times. I"m so sick of teh "Ron and Fez are getting screwed
because of O&A's egos, and Ron and Fez deserve the same if not more
than O&A" attitude. Granted R&F are good, and were one
step away from full national syndication if it wasn't for the SFS3
thing (and stop holding O&A responsable for sabotaging R&F
careers in NY too, that's another unproven point), but O&A are a
PROVEN national show and XM wanted them to be the "big dog" show on
their talk/entertainment part of their programming. You all have
to have patience and see the bigger picture, and I'm sure Ron and Fez
are in Xm's grand scheme (I heard from people I know at Xm that Ron and
Fez were well on Xm's radar for some time, they were waiting for a
chance to sign them)

and the idea of "lets just make other channels for
replays/ron and fez themselves" is also really hard to do since Xm's
bandwith is stretched to the point where they would have to compress
channels even more and ruin the sound quality, and if they had the
space, why did they have to take off several of their channels not too
long ago? Xm is lucky that the sports PBP channels are all AM
based, so the bandwith needed is almost nothing.

give
them time grasshopper, and sas it was stated before, Myfis are dirt
cheap (but I suggest getting the headphone/antenna combo or the clip on
antenna for optimal sound quality)
The chemistry between the 2 shows is very good and thats it. If O&A had their way a bunch of shows would've been signed already ...Scott Ferrall (before he went nuts and made a mistake, as of now just does a biweekly show on 142), the Lazlow show from KROCK but XM wouldnt offer barely any money. I want to get as many shows out of Fez as possible before his heart withers and weeps out the last "fixins".So I think the logical way to squeeze more shows out is to have xm 201 and xm 203 play a mix of R&F replays, but also contender programs to test them out and have listeners vote on them like "Battle of the Bands" and see what gets heat.Is that so insane?http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b44/jr333/BigFroggylookingMartianredux36.jpg
Ask me about Life on Mars

So you're saying that if O&A didn't want to have the west coast drive time slots, they wouldn't be able to do anything about it? I doubt it. Even though XM has the final say, it's O&A's channel and I'm sure they have a lot of leverage. They could easily say "We don't like the lack of control we have -- we're going to Sirius". Whatever they want, they can get.
