Is it okay to bring up what you did in past relationships to your present boyfriend?
i.e: "oh since he's a rebel he was a better lover"
"he choked me while doin that"

Along those lines.. is it a good idea to never bring up the subject of ex's? I used to feel like this was an inevitable topic of conversation, but lately I'm thinking it's okay to just ignore the past and move on. I don't know if that's denial, avoidance, or just pragmatism.

I think it's okay to bring it
up. Depends on context. Just
don't do it in bed. I am not
going to care too much if a
guy is telling me some
anecdote about something he
did and it happens to have
been sometihng he did with his
ex. As long as there's no
present-past comparison
involved I don't give a fuck.

i try not to talk about it,especially past sexual experiences, but it doesn't always work. If my boyfriend were to ask me something specific, I'd give him an honest answer. It is your past and you shouldn't have to hide things, but at the same time, nobody wants to be reminded of your boyfriend's / girlfriends past loves.
TooCute: I totally agree. I mean the only things that I've seen come from bringing up exes are hurt feelings and huge fights.
Brining up exes can be hurtful, if done without thinking it through, but you have to remember one thing: THEY'RE EXES FOR A REASON!

My soon-to-be-ex-wife used to ask me all the time about my first wife. I just brushed her off since to me it was ancient history. Guess what-One day, while shopping, we run into my first wife. Unbeknownst to me, my second wife gets my first wife's phone number and proceeds to harass this poor woman all about our life together. Boy, did that make my life miserable. Certain things should just be allowed to die a quiet death!
