That's awful...I just rewatched Reservoir Dogs a few nights ago & forgot how much I loved him in that movie, and just about everything else he's ever done. Right down to 1984's "The Wild Life" where he starred with a young Lea Thompson & a score by Eddie Van Halen.

Sad news. I hope Mohr is on with O&A tomorrow to do a comic tribute.

I hope Mohr is on with O&A tomorrow to do a comic tribute.

I was thinking the same thing.

It's odd, i had the unsual urge to play the Resevior Dogs soundtrack tonight on my walk, and then I really wanted to watch the movie just to hear Chris Penn say "STOP POINTING THAT GUN AT MY DAD!"

Maybe on some odd cosmic level I sensed something with him. Or I just wanted to see it again because it is such a kick ass movie.

Either way, rest in peace Chris.

Kickass character actor...but it's not TOO surprising to see him dead at 43 given how much he's ballooned in weight over the last few years. I mean, check this recent photo out...

...that ain't fucking healthy. Wouldn't surprise me at all if drugs or foul play WASN'T involved. And if it was the narcs, methinks this is similar to when Ted Demme passed away...heavy guy has a few toots of the nose candy and it runs his heart to death.

Dancing with the women at the bar... << He knows his Claret from his Beaujolais >> "You can tell some lies about the good times we've had, but I've kissed your mother twice...and now I'm working on your dad..."

I was very saddenned to hear of his passing, I really enjoyed him as an actor. He died way too young. His talent will definitely be missed.

I was totally shocked to hear of his passing, that is so sad. I really liked him. I think I'm one of a few people who actually liked and bought the movie Wild Life when it came out on VHS. He also cracked me up as one of the cops in True Romance. I always liked him better than Sean. He was just a great character actor and he will be sorely missed. I agree with jenn, we miss ya already chris.

This bites. I thought the boys did a good job starting off the show with it today. Although, I think they failed to mention he was in Pale Rider. Not the greatest movie but I like it.

Awww... I loved this guy.

I heard that at the scene of his death-- as the body was being wheeled out-- these initial vital stats were released: Name, next of kin, age, and his weight: 350 lbs!! I heard correctly, but 350? Yikes, but yeah- he still kicked Johnny Drama's ass. Ha.

Who knows what the cause of death was- if Penn had a heart attack, if drugs were involved (he has admitted to a problem with addiction, many years ago), but I found it ironic that he replaced his friend, Tom Sizemore in a film role because Sizemore wasn't clean, and the insurance co. wouldn't cover him.

They were great in True Romance. "He's gonna shoot him..."

By comparison, it's amazing that Tom Sizemore is still alive. R.I.P. Chris Penn.
