I bought my computer from a friend about 3 years ago. Since then I've accumilated a lot of pictures, mp3s, etc. However, all of the files, etc still are under his name ((since its his username on the main account)). For example... C:Documents and Settings<<this dude's name>> Is there any way I can change this without reformating the whole system? Or am I just stuck with my computer having this dude's name on it?

Any help would rock.

In the Control Panel, under User Accounts, set up an
Administrator-level account for yourself. You should then be able
to move your stuff over to your account and password protect etc.

Edit - If you are looking to actually rename a bunch of files, there are progs to do that in bulk also.

I think that even if you rename the user it will keep the same folder name: C:Documents and Settings<<this dude's name>>

What you can do is create a new user and move the files you want into the new folder: C:Documents and Settings<<New name>> and then delete the "this dude's name" account.

No -- I tried to delete all the files so I deleted the account, but the folder still remains in Documents and Settings
First of all, it isn't necessary that you remove the folder. If you're really intent on removing it, "sendroam.exe" is most likely running as a process in the background. I'm not sure what it is, but if you want to delete it, you'll have to go to the Task Manager, click on the "Processes" tab, find "sendroam.exe" and click End Process.

However, if this is a program on your system, you should probably remove it through Add/Remove Programs. Even if it isn't, I'm guessing it runs on your system on startup. It could be started through "Startup" on the start menu -- in this case all you have to do is delete it from there. However, if it has a different method of running (i.e. registry, which I don't suggest you fuck with), you may encounter some errors next time you start Windows.
