<a href="http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060130/BREAKINGNEWS/60130005" target="_self">JACKSONVILLE, Fla.</a> - The Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department is responding to reports today of an explosion on the southside of the city that might have released some industrial radioactive material.<br /><br />Spokesman Tom Francis said an explosion occurred on Baymeadows Way that resulted in the release of radioactive materials, according to FLORIDA TODAY news partner First Coast News.<br />

<p>Unless they're exposed to high levels or for a long period of time, there's actually not much to worry about. Were not talking about Chernobyl here. </p><p>People get freaked out when they hear &quot;radiation&quot;. Yet they go get x-rays, use cell phones, even go sunbathing, all of which expose you to radiation. And I think I can safely guess in higher levels than this. </p><p>My guess is they condemn a few buildings and have a haz-mat team do the demolition. <br /></p>
