I don't think he was using it either time...he got pulled over for traffic stuff and then the cops found the stash in his car.

And what kind of drugs are we talking about? Pot is shit, but if he's driving around with an 8 ball he's pretty stupid. If he wasn't on anything hard when he got pulled over I retract my deathwish.

In '96 he was busted for possession of cocaine. In '98 it was pot
and reckless driving (though I'm not sure if he was under the influence
at the time).
Don has talked about his run ins with the law many times - not in a bragging kind of way - but to apologize to his family and listeners I believe. But he HAS talked about these arrests - years ago

I'm shocked if anyone here has listened to more than a day of talk radio and is actually surprised that ANY radio host is on or has been on mountains of coke.

I've heard him talk both seriously about it (about getting busted really helped turn his life around, etc) and about it jokingly - not to make light of doing it, but to point out about that he's a dumbass.

DCRTV's update

Geronimo Injured In Car Accident - 2/9 - WJFK-FM afternoon man Don Geronimo (right), whose wife was killed in a car accident last summer, received a "level two" concussion and bruised ribs in a car accident on Thursday. He told listeners via a phone call to his radio partner Mike O'Meara on his Thursday show that the accident wasn't his fault, and that he blacked out for about 20 seconds after he hit his head on his car's sun roof. That injury required six stitches to the back of his head. He was treated and released from a Northern Virginia hospital. No details on where the mishap occurred. But Geronimo did say that his vehicle hit a vehicle that was leaving a driveway. The driver of that vehicle was not injured, Geronimo said. Geronimo, who is recuperating at his Great Falls home, said he hopes to return to "The Don And Mike Show" on Monday.....

Doesn't sound like he had the seat belt on - not to be morbid, but I have wondered if that contributed to the accident last summer.

Curt:

I wasn't wearing my seatbelt in my accident, and I didn't hit my head on the roof, but there wasn't any other vehicle involved.

As
for HIS WIFE'S accident: Don wasn't in the car when it happened, but it
doesn't matter: You had two cars doing 60+ MPH going into each other
head to head, and one was a japanese sports car vs. a Ford truck.
Seatbelt or not, that's not good odds.

I think Curtoid's point is the man just had his wife taken from him in a car accident and he's not using his seatbelt? The seatbelt is really one of the few things we have control over in the car so there's no excuse NOT to wear it. Sure people die with them on all the time, but it saves them too.

Just seems very irresponsible of him to NOT have it on.

hit his head on the sunroof. Considering that Don's a big guy,

he could have hit his head and still be wearing his seatbelt.

IT'S so unbelieveable to me that people are bringing up shit that happenned 10-11 yrs. ago to him. whatever it was he did back then he has learned from his mistake and has moved on with his life. I don't see the purpose of bringing up something that happenned in the past and has nothing whatever to do with what just happened to him now. He was not drinking or doing drugs. He was just on his way to work just like everybody else.

Instead of bashing the guy Like Moe does on a regular basis with his obnoxious posts, I'm just thankful that he was not seriously injured. Accidents are no joke regardless who they happen too. I would like to see a little more compassion here people. Like him or not He's still just a regular person like the rest of us.

Not that is any of your business Moe but the reason I'm just now replying to this thread is because I have not been able to get to my computer until today. I saw this thread and read all of the posts and I had something to say as well.

First of all, I'm not "headhunting" your posts, whatever the hell that means. you just need to get your facts straight before your start spewing your trash. nowhere does it say he had drugs in his car or was even doing drugs for that matter. Whatever drugs he did or did not do in the past is irrevelant to this thread which was one of my points.

As long as you continue to bash him, I'm going to continue to defend him plain and simple. I said it once on here and I will say it again opinions are like assholes everyone has one. You have your opinions and I have mine. You go right ahead and continue with your obnoxious posts and I will continue to respond to threads I either agree or disagree with.

I stand corrected - listening to Monday's show now, Don talks about the bruise he got from his seatbelt. Sounds like the guy who hit him went across two lanes of traffic. Eeeeeeeesh. Went through that last summer, and it's a little scary.
