View Full Version : Another ECW One Night Stand.

Another One Night Stand

February 18, 2006

Saturday night at the RAW Live Event at the Nassau Coliseum, Tazz introduced Paul Heyman who delivered huge news regarding ECW.

According to Heyman, ECW will hold another One Night Stand. The event will originate from the “original scene of the crime” at Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom on Sunday, June 11, 2006.

Tickets for the event will go on sale Saturday, April 15 at 10 a.m.

If this year's ECW One Night Stand is anything like the original, you can expect to see some of the most extreme action ever. Click here for more on last year's One Night Stand.

Seeing as so many of the talent has either left/fired/retired/died, I just wonder what kind of show they can put together.

I'd love to see the Franchise back in. I guess TNA owns a lot of them now though, The Duds, Sabu, Douglas, etc.

There will always be people who can work. Maybe we see RVD headline. Or maybe this is the blueprint to actually launch ECW again and start building NEW stars.

My only problem is staging this at the Manhattan Center. It was nice last year, but bring them home to corner of Swanson and Ritner. Viking Hall forever!

Not a huge wrestling guy, but saw the first few ECW shows in Philly (Is that Ritner? I was so drunk and not driving I didnt know). Those shows were a blast and at the beginning like 10$ to get in.

Sabu still my favorite wrestler, dunno why he never made it to the big federations, I guess since he actually hurts hisself so much RL.

ECW Arena was on the corner of Swanson and Ritner, conveniently located
by Forman Mills, for all your fans-bring-the-weapons-match needs.
And the ticket prices were fairly reasonable throughout the fed's run;
I never paid more than $25 for a ringside seat.
unless WWE is wiling to co-promote this with TNA, there's no way
they will get a lot of the main starts to perform, and me to pay for
this show
I heard that Malenko is comin out of retirement for this one. Benoit,
RVD, bWo, Super Crazy, Psichosis, Nunzio, Mysterio, maybe Lance Storm
again...can you say Mick Foley-Terry Funk main event?
Sabu was in WCW at one point, but then went back to ECW.
I heard Viking Hall has been remodeled and no longer looks like the way we all remember it. So, having a show there sounds like a great idea, but if it doesn't look like it did 10 years ago, is it still going to have the same feeling?

I thought that Balls and Axl were offered a developmental deal?

WWe
lost interest in hiring them. Oh, if only there were other
wrestlers on their roster they could lose interest in.

Sabu is going to be on the show. He signed a WWE Legends contract (for action figures, video game appearances, etc.). Supposedly Terry Funk is going to appear on the show.
I heard that too. I read that he and Chris Beniot want to have an Eddie Guerrero tribute match.
Is he under contract with TNA? Or did he just take a few bookings with them?
