dude i think me, ron and some listeners may have liked the guy, but hey, what he does is as much stand-up/spoken word then music, meaning w/o an audience, it sounds weak.

In my opinion, he fucking ruled, but I'd seen him live the week before, and the crowd makes the show. His website has either live or more filled-out versions [drums and shit added] and the stuff is, well, it slayed Ron; I just sent the site link, and boom, next thing he's like 'I gotta get this guy on the show'.

So love him hate him, yeah my music taste sucks, Ron and I were still talking about how good he was days later.

[Jack Black 'High Fidelity' Stevie Wonder debate Style] = ON

Sub Thread: name a band, and a link would rock, of a band/act you think would fit on R+F, meaning, like Hamell, flying nicely under the radar enough that they could get them. So U2 are out, but how about some bands 'no-one' else knows about but you think rule, and might go over on R+F.

Thanks a lot for doing this! I'm a huge, huge fan of Hamell on Trial. Seen him live - he rules. First thing I ever gave Ron was a Hamell on Trial CD about 2 years ago. I thought he was good and they all made a love connection - was kind of surprised by the reaction of other listeners, but oh well. The spice of life and all that shit.

His performnce on the show w/out any kinda audible response didn't fly, not a good set up for the uninitiated, IMO. I WANTED to like him cause I'm all about solo performers, but I thought it was awful (I spent the day referring to him as Hammell on Rye)!

My college roomate was involved with the Philly Anti-folk scene and compared to what I saw at many a tiny bar, Hammel was downright pitful. I honestly thought the segment was some kind of bit given how awful that dude was. Really..really..bad...

Adam Brodsky..now HE is the man.

i really liked the point he had to make, but the vehicle (song?) was just too unmusical

Removal from the list is purely at the discretion of Ms. Weiner.

Mooch - good news - I got a missive from someone who actually got the "Welcome to the Dollhouse" reference, not to mention a clarification of her reaction to said appearance about said folksinger, that she would like to be back ON the list, so you can be removed without tipping the balance at all, glory be. Ed has also been informed that he is a "cunt," and it hurt his feelings more than we thought.

Sadly for those left on the list, I was also informed that because of Dawn Wiener's death in "Palindromes" that the club may be disbanded all together, but those are the breaks and in the end we've all learned an important lesson on friendship, trust and music. Glory be.
