Their 8th studio album, and their first in 4 years is set to be released May 2, 2006... The first single, Worldwide Suicide, is available for free on their website, pearljam.com, natch... another track, Gone, is on the B-Side of the Ten club holiday vinyl single (which I've just received YESTERDAY, and still haven't gotten to a record player, pretentious fucks..)

Anyway, thoughts, kudos, fuckyous, indifference...shoot....

That was the best Pearl Jam song I've heard in a long time. And probably the most pop-sounding song I've ever from them. Maybe I'll check this new album out.
I will check the single out. I actually won tickets to see them at the theater @MSG, it was a good show. They played a cover of Sonic Reducer. Rear View Mirror and State of Love And Trust are still my favs.

Not a bad song.

Hopefully, this album won't come with self important videos.

As for the vinyl thing... I already had plans to hook up my turntable to the computer (again) within the next couple of days. Any unwanted LP's can be sent to me!

do you have yours set up? My Technics is run through an old Sony AM/FM

i liked the first 2 albums. everything else to me is just, "yawn". I saw them in concert a couple of years ago and i thought they blew.

No need to start a new thread, but David Gilmour's "On an Island" sounds really nice and just enough Floyd influence to keep you interested.

pearl jam is as good as ever, like east side said they drew back on purpose. the music is still amazing, and the live shows are as good as it gets.

just because you dont hear about them as often doesnt mean anything. i cant wait for may 2nd and i would advise all of you to check them out, again.

My JVC 5:1 amp still came with a phono input, and a phono ground. The ground is the key! That is where you get your noise.

Okay, the SNL broadcast is hitting the mountains. Pearl Jam was pretty good. But Weekend Update, Oh man, what a hack-fest.

The stupid blond chic would end her lame lines by mugging for the camera, and the other one actually ended with "Good night , and have a pleasant tomorrow." This is the first time I've watched in years, how long has it been this lame?

Bring back Charles Rocket.

Oh, wait a minute...............

SNL is the anthema to all that is funny at this point.

And I like old Pearl Jam, but I feel the need to change the station every time World Wide Suicide comes on.

Picked up the new album today and have went through once, and first impression is very very good- probably the best since Vitalogy (but I really liked Riot Act- time will tell I guess). Most of the songs just seem to have a rougher edge to them that seemed to be missing...

Off the bat I can say with great certainty, track 12, Come Back, is amazing. It has a "Black"-esque quality to it, and I loved it the minute I heard it...

ALSO- I tried to get a free ticket to the Irving Plaza show this Friday at Tower records in the Village (you get a ticket to this show when you buy the album there at midnight. I got there at about 5:15 pm and it turned out I missed out on a bracelet by about 25 people. sucks. Hung around till about 9:30 anyway- met alot of cool people online.

I heard the people at the front of the line were there for 38 hours- they certainly looked it. Anyone else try and score that ticket last night?

Oh- they are currently on craigslist for 250-1200... gotta love true fans.

Pearl Jam has consistently been putting out good stuff (minus Binaural which wasn't so good -- but still okay). They put on a great live show as well.

I haven't enjoyed anything from Pearl Jam since Yield, but I love this new CD so far.

Alright, I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan and I have been for a really long time. In fact, the first CD I ever bought was Ten.

When I heard all the hype for the album, I really had a hard time buying it, I mean, their best album since Ten? That seemed pretty far fetched especially considering their last one, but the hype is dead on. This fucking album rocks. And for 9.99, it rocks even harder.

Go buy it. Do it!
