Imus was going on about her this morning.I think Kirby Puckett dying was more of a story.Who cares about this chick other than that her husband had a tragic accident and she got cancer.Probably like 5000 people died yesterday of cancer.

I dont see her " heroism " as much as you do.She only became involved in charities like her husbands after she was forced to do so.Its not like she was campaiging for these things when she was younger.She worked with the hand she was dealt and managed to do some good with it.Thats it.She's no saint.The cancer sucks but to my point plenty of people die of cancer and that doesnt make them great and just because hse's a psuedo celebrity shouldnt make her passing any more or less tragic.

No one FORCED her to become part of those charaties. She took part because she was directly effected by her own personal tragedy and tried to make it easier for others to cope with the same things. To say she was forced is a joke.2. No one ever said she was a saint but she does a young son who is now an ORPHAN. This woman worked tirelessly to keep watch over her husband and never complained about it. Not a saint but close to it.3. No one claimed she was the celebrity in that duo, but how she carried herself with her husbands tragedy and death and then her OWN illness...you are gonna gonna say it is not as tragic? I agree that ANYONE dying of cancer is a shame, but she was trying to do as much good with her life and she even KNEW her time was up soon. And on top of that, as stated before,  she knew her 13 year old son was going to be an orphan. How fucking sad is that??She even sung at Mark Messier's jersey retirement a few months ago. God knows how much pain she was in. Lung Cancer and SHE SUNG.  I think you need to ease up a little there Francis.

But I dont care if she sang at George washington's inagrual ball.She to me, and you are obvioulsy allowed your own opinion, is now different than any mother who dies young and leaves a chile behind.Why because her husband palyed Superman and she sang at a hockey player's retirment ?What about the mother who just died as I was typing this ?Why doesnt she matter ?Does it suck that she died early yes but no more or less than anybody elseTo me the Puckett dying is more " important " in that I can relate to what he did.He played a sport and I watched him on TV a lot of times.Reeves I couldnt pick out of a lineup if I tried.You idolize who you want and I'll go on about my business.

i really feel bad for her kids. my aunt's best friend was one of christopher's nurses for several years.  she even got to go to the academy awards with him one year.  she said how nice they both were.  thoughts and prayers

Instead of wallowing in self-pity following an incredible family tragedy, this woman got off her ass and tried to make a difference and supported her husband until the bitter end.  And then she got hit with the cosmic shit-stick and got lung cancer.She was cute too.  A real fucking shame.  RIP Dana.

I think she was pretty admirable for sticking by her husband through his struggle ... especially since most high profile couples seem pretty fake. They seemed like the real deal and its terrible that she has passed away.
