Ronfish is dead... LONG LIVE RONFISH!

<p>For almost 3 years, I've had two fish. The Black Moore (who turned gold after about 2 months) was named Ron, and the fancy tailed one is named Fez. Yes... I named the black one Ron, because he has more black in him than Fez. And I named the fancy tailed one Fez, because&nbsp; the real Ron would probably track me down and punch me, for saying he has a fancy tail.</p><p>Well... Ronfish died last night. I'm devastated. He's had health problems for a while, and I'm sure it didn't help that the air filter crapped out on Friday. Here's my dilemma. Fezfish is obviously depressed. He's all alone.</p><p>Should I buy a new fish (when I buy a new air filter)&nbsp;to keep Fezfish company? Fezfish is getting pretty big, so I have to keep in mind the size of the tank. As I've said... Fezfish is obviously depressed (as am I), but will Fezfish welcome a new friend, or will he view him as a cheap replacement for Ronfish?</p><p>Other issues include...</p><p>1. New stuff in the tank (i.e. remove things that will remind Fezfish of Ronfish)?</p><p>2. Medication... I've got some Vicodin. Do you think the meds will help Fezfish in his time of need? (I can't take it myself, as I'm allergic)</p><p>3. If I get a new fish, should he be a different type, so he doesn't remind Fezfish of Ronfish?</p><p>4. Who would have thought Ronfish would go before Fezfish?</p><p>I didn't cry. Or did I?</p>

<font size="2">Whatever type of fish you get just make sure that it is of the same temperment as the current one (ie: community, semi-aggressive or aggressive) Also you want to make sure that they are from the same geographical area. Fish can have the same temperment but, if they are from different continents then they could have oppisite aggressive signals.&nbsp;</font>

Well, FUCK!

After about eight years of life, FezFish is gone. It's weird. Up until around 4PM today, he looked absolutely fine, but last night the water started getting mysteriously foggy. I wasn't too worried. This has happened many times. I would just change half of it, and everything would be fine.

Around 6PM, he looked obviously sick. He was just curled up near the filter and sort of just floating at about mid tank level. My pleco also looked kind of pale. I made an emergency second tank to move them to. The pleco started getting better right away (they are very hard to kill). FezFish didn't improve. About an hour ago, he was still breathing. I checked about 20 minutes ago, and he had expelled all his poop, and he was no longer breathing.

I know... It's just a goldfish. But dammit! I've had him eight years! Now I have to figure out what to do with the pleco. I don't want keep it and get more fish, but I also don't want to just "dispose" of it. I'm hoping I can find someone who is willing to take it.

I made this video just two days ago, for a friend. She considers herself the pleco's Godmother (I know... Lame. But she really likes it.)

I had three gold fish, good looking fish in a tank for awhile. They were there for three years. Outlived what we thought they would and then some. It's interesting how even fish can be a pet. And provide you with good times.

And 9 years, christ. That's one helluva run.
