I've been wanting to see this for a long time now. Everything I've seen up to this point has made this look amazing. My only complaint to so far is that I was flipping around last night and Natalie Portman was on TRL and they had some guy on who was getting his head shaved. I hope this isn't the new trend that every time we see someone plugging the movie that someones getting their head shaved. Enough already, we get it.

Even with a shaved head she looks cute. I will be going to see it on Saturday during the afternoon. I hate going to the theater at night, too many hooligans.

I too have never read the comic but the trailer looks great. Also, the trailers havent showen too much and given anything away. Like the X-3 movie, I feel like I have seen the film already and it isnt out yet.

can't wait ... i really wish it came out on nov. 5th, they had the great guy fawkes tag line 'remember, remember the 5th of november' -- but, the terror incident forced them to push the date to st. patrick's

looks great, and john hurt seems intense

well the wonders of being unemployed. i went and checked out a 1215 showing today.

it was a decent movie, they wachowski's wrote the screenplay and got a directing credit.

i actually really enjoyed it, but didnt, if that makes any sense? if anything, i am even more curious now to check out the graphic novel. even if just to see that alan moore is right that his vision got raped for the silver screen yet again. oh yes... id still bang natalie portman all bald anyday ^_^

btw.. only two trailers, superman returns (GAYYYYYYYYYYY) and posiden ( a posiden adventure remake) looks decent, for a brainless action flick, kurt russell is too old to be an action hero though.

I thought the movie was extremely well done...I don't know what Alan Moore's problem was. It was a pretty faithful adaptation, IMHO. Hugo Weaving was incredible, and I have nothing but respect for Natalie Portman's performance. My only issue was the totalitaranism...maybe it's just me but with the lessons of WWII, Serbia, Nigeria, Cambodia, etc, I just don't see how a country like England could ever accept such a regime like that...I guess it's an interesting point to debate...could dictatorships rise from the fallen ashes of established democratic superpowers?

It's troubling, especially when you consider the issues troubling our own time that were reflected in the film...the intolerance toward homosexuality, pandemic viruses, government influencing media....

One wonders if the seeds of fear and hatred could topple this country...

Anyway I thought the movie raised some interesting questions. The fight scenes had purposes, and I found myself moved by each and every one.

Great film. Good questions.

I don't know what Alan Moore's problem was.

Well, for one, he's stated long ago he doesn't want anything to do with films based on his books. He doesn't take any money, and gives it all to anyone he worked with on the books. What pissed him off here is that Joel Silver came out and blatantly said that Moore had read the screenplay and said he liked it, and nothing of the sort had actually happened. Moore asked for an apology and a retraction, and he didn't get one. In short, he doesn't care what people do to his books as films...he views them as completely seperate entities that he has nothing to do with. He was just pissed this time that someone was putting words into his mouth over the subject.

Does anyone else think that V was Valerie the lesbian actress who's note was in the cell only to be mutated with steriods and chemicals and used her acting skills to sound like Hugo Weaving ?

Spicy that's a bit of a stretch plot-wise

The Adam Sutler character reminded me of George W. Bush!!! The only difference is George W would be saying "Let's remind the people why we need to be in Iraq."

V said that if the people wanted to see the faces of the people who robbed them of their freedom that they needed only to look in the mirror.Never truer words. Alot of good and timely dialogue in the movie. I rather live in fear of a terrorist attack than surrender my freedoms.

Hugo Weaving was awesome as V.

holy shit this movie was good. everytime i thought they were doing something that was going to inspire my gag reflex or cinematic aversion factor they totally proved me wrong. everything i thought i was going to make me turn against the film as it was happening turned me ever more into supporting how brilliant the film was. bravo with the 1812. the last ten minutes of the movie are what fucking movies are meant to do to you. unbelievable. those w. boys really fucking redeemed themselves after the last two matrix films. bravo.

I liked the movie on a whole but found the "final confrontation" between V and Sutler to be a little unsatisfying.

I don't think V was Valerie

In the book we never see V's face. even after he die's Evie never looks, although is tempted.

Now this the part that I don't think the movie did well.
