I was just wondering if anyone's perception and level of enjoyment derived from this message board changed at all once you met some of your fellow posters.

How about meeting Ron and Fez themselves? Did it alter the way you viewed the show and them personally?

It's strange but it honestly didn't change anything for me. For some reason, once I'm on this site you all become as nameless and faceless as the day I signed up. Same goes for Ron and Fez. When I'm listening, they're still these two hilarious guys on the radio that I have no connection with.

Did any of you experience a change (for better or worse) once the veil of anonymity was lifted?

Did It Change Your Level Of Enjoyment?

only when i rub ice on it....

i'd have to say i met some very nice people 'in person' and we have a good time when there's a get-together and it's nice to see them, so i'd have to say "yes". as far as Ron and Fez i 've met them a couple times but never really had any extended conversation. the usual "love the show", "can i have your autograph" and "can i tickle your ass with a feather"...

meeting Ron and Fez is just "Cool" and i guess it does raise the level of enjoyment just for the basic reason you've met them, shook their hand, and exchanged greetings which gives you the feeling as if you 'know them' a little bit...

My first event was one of the WNEW Halloween bar crawls. I had a good time and eventually started dating one of the members who I have hot, hot sex with... so yes, it has changed my level of enjoyment significantly. Enjoyment of the board? Eh.
Five years later and you ask this now? What exactly is the point of this thread, are you drinking? And just for the record: you all suck.

I was actually really jazzed about meeting ESD and Ron and Fez were as cool as I thought they would be. I met Black Earl years ago at a RAW is WAR and he was cool as hell, and recently at Calico Jacks I told him I loved the Black Rock Coalition and he just stared at me. Maybe he didnt like it that a white guy liked his black rock show. Eh, what can you do?

I dont know about it changing my "level of enjoyment" but I've met some crazy and great people who I know I would have never crossed paths with if not for this message board... and for that, I am appreciative.

When I finally introduced myself to R&F it kind of weirded me out that they were familiar with specifics of some stuff I had written on the messageboard, and totally busted my balls for some of it. Losing the anonymity was a fair trade, though, for being allowed to stop by the station, regardless if I had anything to offer. Even a year removed, that brief experience still makes me appreciate what they continue to do and what the show does more - there remains no one that can make me really laugh out loud like Ron or Fez.

It's been a pretty groovy experience meeting peeps from rf.net over the years. Almost to a person, everyone has been very cool and turned out to be folks I enjoyed spending "3-D" time with. For the most part, however, the eclectic hodge-podge of friends I've made because of the show were made away from the message board - folks I met in studio or at appearances, etc. - but that's more because of the geography aspect of everything.

Although I've only met a small number of board members over the years, it's cool to put faces to screen names.

Meeting Ron and Fez made me enjoy them more. One, because they take the time to meet with us and two, because it's interesting to watch them interact in person -- particularly in the studio.

Leave it to Gvac to point out "meat". Too bad it's not 1976, Gvac and his repressed homosexuality would have made a great ABC Afterschool Special. Come on, Miss Thing, get out of the closet and really enjoy those Leo Sayer albums you have!

Meeting other members only enhanced my level of enjoyment. "OH! So YOU'RE Fuzzybutt!" met with a smile was a great rush! I've liked everyone I've met so far.

But I've never met Blowhard/Heckler. I've talked to him on the phone, though. He's an enigma. Wrapped in a riddle.

I wish I could meet Whistle Pig. She's one cool chicka.

It definitely increased the enjoyment of the show. From meeting the boys at the studio and hanging out with them on/off air has been a lot of fun. Getting to know them as real people not just radio personalities. I have also met a lot of great people from the board and fellow listeners of the show.

It was also very cool to be in the studio or helping out with appearances to see all of the behind the scenes stuff that goes on to put the show on. I was a huge WJFK fan and to be able to spin records on a major market station was a very cool thing. To being a part of the show is a lot of fun. How many other shows do you really think would let you do this stuff.

Hopefully I can get to meet more people from the board and help spread the word about the boys.
