I hear Marv Levy just completed a book entitled "The History Of The Super Bowl." In it he claims his Buffalo Bills were 4-0 in Super Bowl competition.
Reuters UK also found some documents showing how France single-handedly defeated the Nazis.

I've always felt that Judas was meant to betray Christ. Otherwise, there'd be no Christianity. I'm I remember correctly, The Last Temptation of Christ took the same stance. To the point even, of having a scene where Christ explains to Judas why he must do it.

QUOTE: "The idea in this gospel is that Jesus, like all of us, is a trapped spirit, who is trapped in a material body," Ehrman said. "And salvation comes when we escape the materiality of our existence, and Judas is the one who makes it possible for him to escape by allowing for his body to be killed."

If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.

PapaBear, I saw the movie recently and that was indeed in there... Overall, I was underwhelmed with the movie. I recall the hubbub when it came out, but it really seemed somehow tame. Perhaps because of the passage of time? Dunno.

And, yes, no doubt about it... how could Judas have ever been blamed for a key requirement in the fundamental story of Christianity? Always found lots of free will issues looming around many of the stories. Didn't Yahweh make pharoah obstinent, so that the plagues had to happen... sure seems like a set-up.

I cite a specifc section of The Brick Testament. You'll thank me later. Go visit it for a good old fashioned grin.

they're a host of apocryphal gospels that, if included, would've changed the focus and perspective of christianinty ... i love the history of the bible and the politics involved

there was a book released last year that focused on the gospel of thomas that had a much more 'eastern' view of christ and slightly mystical (i heard an NPR interview that was quite interesting)

Obviously, Judas' agent hired a PR firm to rehabilitate his image.
