<h1>RonFez.Net DADA Day in DC </h1>Ron & Fez will NOT be appearing at this event!      There will be a RonFez.Net board member gathering to see the DADA Exhibit at the National Gallery’s East Bldg. In Washington, DC (our nation’s capitol). <h1>ALL ARE WELCOME, ADMISSION IS FREE!!! </h1>     The date will be Sunday, April 23rd at 1pm. (This is also the 1st day of Nat’l Karaoke Week, hopefully there will be no scheduling conflicts!)            Try to get there early because at 1 pm sharp there’s a performance outside of the exhibition of the music for Ballet Mecanique performed by an automated ensemble of 16 player pianos, 4 bass drums, 3 xylophones, gong & various bells & sirens. It’s a pretty unique experience & LOUD!!! <a href="http://www.nga.gov/exhibitions/index.shtm#dada" target="_blank">Dada</a> February 19–May 14, 2006 <a href="http://www.nga.gov/programs/music.shtm#mar12a" target="_blank">Le Ballet m‚canique (1924)</a> March 12–May 14, 2006 Monday–Friday at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. East Building Mezzanine Automated musical instruments including sixteen programmed grand player pianos will play portions of George Antheil's score for the Fernand L‚ger film, Le Ballet m‚canique (1924). Presented in conjunction with the <a href="http://www.nga.gov/exhibitions/dadainfo.shtm" target="_blank">Dada</a> exhibition, the installation will be activated for a ten-minute performance each weekday at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00 pm. DEFINITELY COUNT ME IN, FINALLY AN EVENT FOR US DC LISTENERS TO ENJOY AND REVEL IN. FOR SOME OF US IT'S HARD TO MAKE UP TO NEW YORK EVEN FOR A DAY FOR A VARIETY OF REASONS. IT'S REFRESHING THAT THE BOYS ARE TAKING THE TIME OUT TO COME DOWN HERE AND GIVE US DC FOLKS A CHANCE TO HANG OUT WITH THEM TOO. I GIVE MAD PROPS TO WHOEVER COORDINATED THIS EVENT, THANKS. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THE BOYS ONCE AGAIN.    :)

Here's an hysterically conservative reaction to the DADA Exhibit at the National Gallery courtesy of the National Review. It's amazing that an art form which arose in response to the chaos of WW1 would hold the same power and shock value to this day, nearly 100 years later... I hope I can show up, I would love to meet some of the local
listeners; none of my three friends listen much to the radio; yes I
only befriend deaf people. Three of them.I work really close to
the National Gallery, man I really hate going near work on a
non-work-day, but for this it will be worth it! Can't wait!

I won't be able to go, because I'm working. For those who aren't sure how to find it, though... look for the US Capitol building. That's an easy landmark. so i got there an hour later than i planned, couldnt find anyone, spent an hour looking: traversed both natl gallery buildings in search of a familiar face, gave up there and went past the hirschhorn, still no lucktook the metro back, total bust for me  <img border="0" src="http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/wallbash.gif" />oh well, next time.  exchanging cell phone #s wouldve been a really good idea had i thought of it sooner

I am sorry to hear it, suggums budday. we didn't even go into the exhibit until 1:30 and Kathleen & I were def still in 1 of the 1st 2 rooms when you arrived (1 hour late). I don't know what went wrong? unfortunately, I don't know what U look like.It was a real pleasure to meet Fluffernutter!& we had a couple a lurkers crawl outta the woodwork for this!!!here's some shocking news, we ended up in kelly's pub after we had made ourselves art sick!<img height="391" src="http://www.peryer.co.nz/tears-man-ray.jpg" width="250" border="0" />
