In Washington, DC (our nation&rsquo;s capitol).<br /></p><h1><font size="3"><font color="#ff0000">ALL ARE WELCOME, ADMISSION IS FREE!!!</font><br /></font></h1>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The date will be <strong><font color="#ff0000" size="3">Sunday, April 23<sup>rd</sup> at 1pm</font></strong>. (This is also the 1<sup>st</sup> day of Nat&rsquo;l Karaoke Week, hopefully there will be no scheduling conflicts!)<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Try to get there early because at 1 pm sharp there&rsquo;s a performance outside of the exhibition of the music for Ballet Mecanique performed by an automated ensemble of 16 player pianos, 4 bass drums, 3 xylophones, gong &amp; various bells &amp; sirens. It&rsquo;s a pretty unique experience &amp; LOUD!!!<br /><strong><a href="http://www.nga.gov/exhibitions/index.shtm#dada" target="_blank"><font color="#800080" size="3">Dada</font></a></strong> February 19&ndash;May 14, 2006 <br /><a href="http://www.nga.gov/programs/music.shtm#mar12a" target="_blank"><strong><em><font color="#800080">Le Ballet m‚canique (1924)</font></em></strong></a><br /><strong>March 12&ndash;May 14, 2006</strong><strong><br /><strong>Monday&ndash;Friday at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.</strong><br /><strong>Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 p.m.</strong><br /><strong>East Building Mezzanine</strong></strong><br /><p>Automated musical instruments including sixteen programmed grand player pianos will play portions of George Antheil's score for the Fernand L‚ger film, <em>Le Ballet m‚canique</em> (1924). It's amazing that an art form which arose in response to the chaos of WW1 would hold the same power and shock value to this day, nearly 100 years later... <p>so i got there an hour later than i planned, couldnt find anyone, spent an hour looking: traversed both natl gallery buildings in search of a familiar face, gave up there and went past the hirschhorn, still no luck</p><p>took the metro back, total bust for me&nbsp;&nbsp;<img border="0" src="http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/wallbash.gif" /></p><p>oh well, next time.&nbsp; exchanging cell phone #s wouldve been a really good idea had i thought of it sooner<br /></p>
