I can't stand WNEW's commercials. They play the same version over and over for years, and it really pisses me off. Everytime Ron & Fez takes a commercial brake, I have to change the channel, and I usually forget to turn it back to the show. So often I miss most of the show, cause I get stuck on Krock or something, and forget about R&F!
I wish WNEW relized that commercials make tons of money, but when you play then at nausea most people turn the channel.
What's my sugesstion? Try creating different versions of the same commercial, and rewritting the copys more often!
I'm sorry if this has already been discussed on this message board, im new.
One more thing...Please stop that damn annoying music in the background of lame commercials.
Also, If you got the impression that I listian to 102.7 all day. Your wrong. I get back from school at 3:30.
Just kidding... I listian to R&F while doing homework, and writting here.
Did Lisa really take stacker2?

The WORST has to be the Longitude commercials. That chick is asking "Who wants to be just average?" The guy with a below average size cock, that's who! He's be happy to just be average! But I guess that's the idea. Shame men into buying it.

I agree about the commercials, they repeat themselves too often and becoem old after a week. If they had more live reads and spiced up with a different version of the commercial, it would at least prevent me from changing the station every now and then.. but i usually turn back to R&F after listening to music

It is sad when you can actually memorize those commercials since they play them over and over. The worst thing I see now though are the movie commercials. It drives me nuts hearing it at every break.

Hey, these commercial sure beat the hell out of Sears Alluminum Siding (license # available on request) and temperpedic!

NJMMOE - The voice in the longitude is Amy Lynn of porn star fame. I've posted elsewhere how there are no nerve endings 2-3 inches into the vagina so size really doesn't matter, except pyschologically. Remind me to post the evolutionary psychology explanation for what makes men attractive to women and vica versa.

These snake oil commercials are run because money is the bottom line. I think that products like Longitude are scams, but until the FCC cracks down on these cons, they will be advertised and the station makes money. And now with the economy shaky, anything goes!

Wait, HK, I can tell you for
sure that my cervix has nerve
endings. And that's more than
2-3 inches into my vag, I
think.

As much as the WNEW commercials annoy me, I am always somewhat amused by the cavalcade of crap they advertise on the station. Could these advertisers be praying on people's insecurities anymore? I also love how one brand advertises for a while and then is replaced by one which purports to do the same thing. Stacker 2, Hollywood miracle diet, etc.

As I'm reading this, I'm listening to a tape of the last hour and a half of tonight's show (Bar Crawl night). Here's what I've heard ala "redundant commercials": In ONE break, there was "Hi, I'm Melissa! from some strip club that's too far to drive to" TWICE--TWICE in ONE break!! I've heard the same recorded Stacker 2 commercial countless times, and those
#$%ING unfunny Will Farrell "Let's not ruin Miller Time" that they run TWO AT A TIME (like on every other station) and penis-products with Hosebag Amy Lynn, who wouldn't be able to tell the size of a penis if she judged it with her overstretched period-purse... there CAN'T be any surviving nerve endings in THAT snapping-pussy.

BUT----- One type of commercial that I RARELY hear on WNEW is the car commercial. I HATE that guy that talks as fast as he can, as low and mumbly as he can, issuing the "Conditions apply" disclaimer at the end of every one of them. If you don't know what I mean, it's the guy that says "BBBLLLVLLBLBLBLLBLBLBLB
LBLBLBLBLBLBLBLLBBYYYYB;LBLBL
BLLBLBLLBLBLBLBLBLLLLLBBBLLUL
ULULULULULUBBUBBBBUBUBUBUBUBU
BUBBUBUUBUB" and that's a quote. I wrote it down as I heard it on the radio once.

Why don't they run commercials for Dildos, Vibrators and Enema Bags yet? Oh, they do? Sorry.

Yeah, I agree there's too many commercials especially on O&A.
Maybe someone with a little radio business knowledge can help me with this question: what would keep the station from selling fewer commercial spots, but at a higher price? The station would then make the same money, and they can sell to the advertisers the exclusivity- that their ad would be less likely to be lost in the clutter or competition, and that people would be less likely to tune out of a shorter break.

Ron and Fez have ZERO control over the commercials played on their show. The only thing that we can conceivably do to improve the commercials is improve Ron and Fez's ratings which will raise the amount of money charged for each commercial so tell all your friends to listen.

I hate that WNEW is still running that ad that starts "Our new fall lineup...." It's almost winter already for Christsakes! Tell the marketing department to get a calendar already!

Yeah, I basically have all the commercials memorized on WNEW. What's worse is that they play the same commercials on different radio stations, and they use a their own "house" announcer. These guys/girls read the ads like they're at a funeral (At least Matt Devoti knows what he's doing)

I wanted to do a parody of all those cheesy ads, but I know they wouldn't play them, "cuz you never bite the hand that feeds you".

I think a big problem with most of these commercials is that the ad copy is really god-awful. I do voice-overs for TV & Radio, and when I go to an audition that has extremely bad copy or bad jokes, it's hard to sound happy about what you're talking about.

Matt Devoti Rules!!!
