I bought the CD. What a fucking waste of money. I bought the double CD it's on just for one song, and it's an annoying song.

The rest of the album ended up not impressing me.

It's got a beat and you can dance to it.

It's really bizarre to hear the opening line of "Subdivision" in the context of the song rather than the show. There's no way to I can hear "Subdivision" the way the artist intended, it will always be a "bit" to me. It's like when I hear "Think" by Lyn Collins which has that breakdown that was sampled by DJ EZ Rock in "It Takes Two" - it still sounds like a sample to my ears even though it's not.

I'm sure Mikey Boy can dig up the original show from WNEW when Ron and Fez first heard the track. The discussion was that Ani Difranco had wanted to perform the song on David Letterman, but the network brass wouldn't let her. They had Al Dukes play the song and hilarity ensued.

Here's what I'm wondering. By now Ani must have caught wind that her song has been sampled and is used daily on RF. I really wonder if she gets a kick out of it or if it just annoys her. I'm guessing that the way it gets used is sort of on target for what the song is about. It would be kinda cool if she called in to the show some time.

Similarly, I wonder if oscar winner Al Pacino knows what a big ass card is. Probably not.
