In the last few weeks, Larry Silverstein the one who holds the lease to the WTC Site has been battling Mayor Bloomberg, Gov's Pataki and Corzine about the planning to rebuild the site. State and Local gov't want more control but Silverstein isnt backing down. I did not lose any relatives from the attack and I know this is a delicate subject but maybe government should stay out and let private enterprise run this. Its almost going to be 5 years and still only 7 WTC has been completed

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/local/story/411213p-347872c.html

There's alot going on here. For one, there's not alot of demand for office space downtown for alot of reasons. And Sheldon Silver insists that they replace the office space lost when the towers fell. He wants downtown to remain the world's financial capital, even though business is changing and location means less than it used to. Shumer is saying "lets see what happens with renting out WTC 7, then he'll decide what plan he supports" Which makes sense. If there isn't much demand for office space, there's no point in building it. Bloomberg and Pataki are getting impatient and just want SOMETHING to be built before they leave office.

So long story short (too late) its alot of high powered political wrangling gumming things up in NYC. What else is new.
