View Full Version : Hey Redskins Fans!

Heath is deadly, deadly serious. He's a democrat that styles himself after Kerry and Edwards, and I know he's met with both of them. His leadership certainly did great things on the field for the 'Skins.
*not remotely a 'Skins fan*

Damn... that's my old district in Asheville. Coincidentally, it's the same district that Brad Johnson comes from. That's a very strange area. Asheville (which is the main city) is very Liberal and sometimes called "San FranCisco East". But the surrounding area has many pockets of deep religious Conservatives.

I don't know what to make of it, but I'm going to keep an eye on this story.

The more I'm reading about Shuler, the more I like him. Ironically, I lost my right to vote down there. Good thing I came back up here and got my right restored. I'll never set foot down there again, so (though I like the cut of Shuler's jib) I can't vote for him.
Isn't Darryl Green running too?
He certainly isn't overly modest.
I know Gary Clark owns a bar down here. And hit on a girl I work with.

People from the area can always count on odd stories from the Mountain Xpress...

and other stuff.

PS... I still want to know Brad Johnson's take on all of this.

I knew somebody from that area that's approximatly his age, and he's a bit of a folk hero down there. I think people remember a lot of his high school days, a bit of his college days, and pretty much nothing from his days with the skins.

When I lived down there (93-97) I never heard his name other than when people bashed him. That area has a huge Redskins fan base, and they thought he sucked. All the people in Asheville talked about Brad Johnson, because he was from 10 miles away in Black Mountain, and a lot of people I knew went to school with him. I think he even paid for a new football stadium for his old High School. Johnson was still just a back up in Minnesota at the time, too.
