It doesn't seem so crazy to me that a President would choose someone who worked in the media to be his press secretary. Yes, we all know Fox News leans right. Even more of a reason for Bush to choose this guy. I'm not sure about press secretaries throughout history, but I think Joe Lockhart worked in the media before he became Clinton's press guy. Is it so shocking that a president would pick press secretary with media experience and similar political tendencies? I dunno, seems pretty normal to me.

There are plenty of things to call out Bush on. Let's not make every move and decision the Pentagon Papers.

He worked for President George H.W. Bush as a speechwriter so it's not like he's not served in the White House before.

Besides, Mary Matalin went to work for Cheney in the first term after having been a familiar talking head on the networks.

Snow seems to be carrying on the Bush White House's tradition of contempt for the press, and thus, the public's right to know what it's representatives are doing.

Indeed, there’s been a lot of smiling and plenty of jokes and laughter during the first two weeks of Snow’s tenure as Bush’s new press guy. The atmosphere in the briefing room, which only weeks ago seemed poisonous beyond repair, now seems relaxed and different enough to compensate for the fact that reporters don’t seem to be getting any more straightforward answers than before.

Snow has openly dodged questions on everything from the NSA wiretaps to immigration reform--all the while admitting to reporters that he’s doing so. Perhaps the most artful dodge has been Snow’s tendency to say “I don’t know”--a phrase that has been cited dozens of times in the last several briefings.

It’s not unreasonable to think that Snow can and should only stick to the facts that he knows. But it’s interesting to see how Snow has offered noncomments on issues where he should be fully up to speed. In some cases, Snow has been even less forthcoming than McClellan about what Bush and his advisers are doing.

Yerdaddy should just go to the White House, stick his head into a window in the oval office and say "Ey, the fuck you doin?"
