Difference between Don & Mike and Ron & Fez

Have you ever noticed that Don & Mike agree on EVERYTHING? It really sucks, and makes their show so boring and perdictable. But Ron & Fez seem to agree on somethings, and disagree on others. I love that about the show (R&F). It makes it seem more real and unprodictable.

Uh, two of them are funny, and two of them aren't?

Of course Don and Mike always agree. Because it's an unwritten rule. It's Don's show, and Mike can't say anything out of line and / or have an independent thought. I remember listening to the show once, a few years back, and Don was out sick. Mike did the show by himself that day, and you should have heard how he freaked out when people called in to praise him.

Night and day my friends. No comparison. Ron and Fez have to be one of the BEST radio talk shows I've ever heard. On the other hand, The Don and Mike show is BLAND! I'd like to see what happens if his wife and son ever left him. They're his whole GODDAMN ACT! I listened to them for like 2 days, and he called one or both of them BOTH DAYS!

One thing I really liked about R&F was how they never talk bad about other shows (at least never badmouthed D&M) even when was weirdness. I thought it was very gracious to let D&M on after bowling appearance and not rag on their performance. D&M were so drunk and completely off but R&F didn't stop them from bombing. It was like a train wreck. Mike is normally good at voices but his Ron sucks ... and I think he doesnt realize it.

simply put d&m think they are better than everyone. because they've been in it for so long and had the Washington ratings they think that they are the be all and end all in talk radio. Yet who has really heard of them? Think of O&A with all the press, Stern with the notoriety- D&M think they have that too. They don't seem to understand what moving them to middays means- "you guys are replacable and useless."

Well anyway, the main reason I have listened to D&M is because of Lisa Herndin sp*, sometime appearance of WWF superstars like Stacy the other day and the occasional call from Lea Remini, damn she is so fine. For the most part the show is like a 60 year old version of RF and OA-esque programming. Just my opinion.

Alright, so I could handle the Mike, Rob and Buzz show. All of them are funny and original. Don Geronimo is so PHONY, it's unreal. It comes across so much when he's talking. He is a total company ass - f. 'I went over to Ken Stevens' house this weekend. . . ' Goddamn he makes me angry. Like pathetically angry. I'm gonna go drown my cat.

I listian to the Don and Mike show, and every once in awhile I enjoy it. Most of their bits are very funny (except their fake interviews). Their a little stuck up for me, most of the time. Who cares about you god damn ratings!!!!!!
Their best bit, is when they have Charlie Stablak (one of Mikes fake voices) on. That is the funniest god damn bit ever.
However, they dont come anywhere close to Ron and Fez.

Give them a chance though.

Don and Mikes history speak for themselves. They did mornings, and kicked ass (ratings wise). They did afternoons, and kicked ass(ratings wise).
Don and Mike suck (most of the time), but please give them their props.

They got good ratings in a lot of the smaller markets, and in a few larger markets like DC and Sacramento.

BUT you can't deny that they decision to syndicate Opie and Anthony nationally, IN D&M'S TIMESLOT, is a direct message from CBS / Infinity management to D&M saying: "You are NOT the future of talk radio. O&A are."

Geez, now this has turned into a D&M bashing thread.

HEY DOUCHEBAG!! Don and Mike have an older point of view and they're trying to shove it down the younger listeners throats. Don thinks he is the King of all Shit and I would assume it kills Mike, Don's been in radio a long ass time but who gives a crap? HEY DOUCHEBAG is only a good offensive threat once per conversation I think if Don moved on to HEY PINHEAD or HEY STUPID FACE or possibly HEY FARTBUTT he would make the younger listeners realize that he really is creative. Mike's voices are nothing compared to Anthony's and Mike's admitted that many times. That's all I'll say for now.

Don and Mike are from a different era of Talk Radio. It all started when Don worked under The "Master" and Originator of Shock-Jock Talk Radio, Steve Dahl, at WLS AM in Chicago (No, Howard Stern was not the originator as he would like to have all of us believe). Don has often admitted to Steve being his mentor. But of course, if he hadn't met Mike O'Meara, he would be just another Oldies Station Deejay.

Whoever says Mike's voices suck, I think you need to get your hearing tested. Mike is a true Master at imitating voices. The nuances and inflections in his multitude of voices are absolutely amazing (Anthony shares this same, rare gift). It's obvious they're both musically talented.

Ron and Fez are Radio Phenomenons, to say the least. Their wit supercedes anyone I have ever heard on the radio, and they're just unbelievably gosh-darn funny. They both complement each other equally (unlike Don & Mike, where Don carries and rules most of the show with an iron fist, and O&A, where Anthony carries most of the show, and Opie acts as the moderator).

Don't get me wrong, I love all three of the shows on WNEW. I consider them to be the Triumvirate of Comedy Talk Radio. But my favorite show is Ron & Fez.

Geez, this sure has turned into a don&mike bashing thread.
Ron & Fez are the best talk show host ever. They kick some major ass.
But you have to admit it, even though you may hate D&M give them some credit. They have amazing ratings, and just cause they are a different type of show, dont say they have no skill. It takes more then just a human with a voice to do a quality radio show.
