View Full Version : Prank Calling Radio Shows

I was going through some cassette tapes tonight and found one that was made 16 years ago when I was a sophomore in high school. A few friends of mine would call radio shows like Lionel, Bob Lassiter, Ted Webb, Jay Marvin, etc... and basically let out a scream during the call. The scream was based on Peter Boyle's character in the movie "The Dream Team" from the scene where he stepped in the elevator and went "wah, wah, wah."

I converted it to mp3 and decided to upload it. The quality isn't the best on some calls, but still listenable. Here it is if anyone wants to give it a chance.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PW6FU2HT

New link at a lower bit rate.

I don't know, it took about 9 minutes to upload on a broadband connection. It's a 24 meg file cause I saved it as 128k so the calls sound decent.

I have a cable connection, usually pretty fast.

Maybe if you broke up the bit into sections, you would get more hits.

Maybe it's just my computer (it does act weird sometimes).

I lowered the bit rate and will be uploading it soon. I'll edit the link in the first post.

OK, it's a much lower bit rate now, so it shouldn't be such a long download.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PW6FU2HT

I have 50 minutes worth, I took it down to about 25, editing the weaker calls. I noticed you credited Lionel with one of the quotes, but you missed one, the grapefruits line was also by Lionel. Is he still big in NY?
No idea. My best guess is local cable access. The whole prank call thing is pretty funny, but the sidekick takes it to another level.
