I think you get around 2 units of radiation every minute you're out in the sun.

And the sun gets lousy reception.

How does this hacking of the e815 work? Randi has that phone and it won't even let you put your own ringtones on it unless you download them through Verizon's crappy data service.

Copycat!!

Like you're one to talk!

ADF - check howardforums.com - there is LOADS of info there.

All I'm pissed about now is that the charger on mine broke so they gave me
a new one, but I lost all the ringtones that I'd made and unfortunately I
hadn't saved them. I'm too lazy to make more, so I don't know what to do
now :(

I'm still trying to learn how to use it, but the radiation levels were pretty low. That's a relief. I had an ancient Nokia for years, but when Cingular took over SunCom, the phone hardly ever worked. They gave me this one for free to replace the old one.

For E815 Info - www.howardforums.com like toocute mentioned

They have a specific Verizon forum, then a Motorola Phones forum in the Verizon Forum. Detailed info on how to force 1X mode instead of EVDO.

To unlock those Bluetooth/Motorola features for the E815, you'll need to buy Motorola Phone tools and a USB cable. You can order that combo off of ebay for around $20. I bought it at the Verizon store and it was like $50 because I am impatient. Detailed information on how to change the settings on the phone is on howardforums. Basically you can now transfer any photos/ringtones/video back and forth through the USB cable without Verizon charging you. You have to be careful and follow the steps exactly or you will fry your phone, but there is a detailed thread on this on howardforums. Works great for me.

Motorola Phone tools, when it knows your phone is Verizon, disables a whole bunch of software features. Once you "hack" the phone, Motorola Phone Tools has all the other options available, including a ringtone creator. You can also just drag/drop mp3s to use.

EDIT - Here is the detailed thread specifically for the Verizon E815 http://verizonwireless.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=674803

If you don't want to "hack" your phone and kill the warranty, my method of getting ringtones is completely software based and delivers ringtones for the price of a Pix text message to your phone.
