How can I record a sound clip directly from a dvd in my computer to my
hard drive? Is there stock software I can use? None of the freeware I
have tried allows me to record the interior audio coming from my
computer.
AUDACITY. It's free.

Can I then dump that onto my Ipod? WP hooked me up big time, and I would love to have the audio to take along!

Once you record something w/ Audacity, it needs to be converted to MP3. I think you can get an MP3 plug in for Audacity, but I'm not sure. I use Acustica's MP3 to Wave Converter Plus. I paid 10 bucks for it about 3 years ago and it works great for converting audio files. Then you can put it on your MP3 player.

Audacity allows you to encode into MP3, you just need to grab LAME (free, open source)
