For three days now, I have programmed my new myfi to record ron and fez. Also for three days now, I have come home in the afternoon to find that the show has not recorded. The first day, the battery was fully charged but no power cord was attached. Directions say that cord must be attached, so I did so and re-programmed my recording.

The second day, I come home, hit "mode", read now that myfi is retrieving info. Screen comes up, says "play 0:00". Time on top of screen says 3:00, even at 5pm. NOthing plays, screen goes black, then comes back with a live feed to 202. Clock on top of screen is now correct. WHat am I missing?

sounds like the recordings have disappeared into the bowels of your myfi. i recommend erasing it all, hitting the little reset button on the back with a paper clip or other small object, and then starting over tonight with the replay. as per the clock time change problems, mine does that sometimes, usually when the battery is dying or the recordings go apeshit, and i dont know what causes it or how to fix it, other than letting it reset on its own from the home cradle. good luck, you might try some other XM-hardware related forums
I had a similar problem with the MiFi. I’m going from memory, but here’s how I do it: Before setting the recording, I have it in live or direct mode so that I am listening to 202. My antenna is not permanently mounted, so I move it around until I have a strong, solid signal.
Then hit "menu" and go down to "My XM" - select "clear" to clear out the old programming. Once that finishes, go to the "schedule recording" option. Once you set the programming frequency (I usually just select ‘once’ and then reset it every night), channel, and time (be sure am/pm is correct), hit the "menu" button until you are out of the menu options and back to the main XM screen. Only then should you turn off the unit. If I turn off the unit before hitting menu to get back to the main screen, it won’t record.

Also, be sure you are setting the recording session well before it is supposed to start. A few times, I rushed trying to set it at 11:59 p.m., and it would not start at 12:00. If you're awake when it is supposed to be recording, check the unit - it should say "Session 1 Recording"

Mine has had problems since day one with recording. Usually it works ok, but some days it just doesn't record, even though it's set to record "every day". Also... with session 2 it often records the same thing I had it set to record last, even though I have it set to "off". It's gotten so bad, that I ended up permanently setting session 2 to record every day for 5 minuts before the show. Session 2 also won't let me set an end time past 2 AM or 2 PM.

Thanks, all. the only thing I didn't do there is scroll out of menu completely before I turned the unit off. Had I half a brain, I would have figured this out by recording little snips during the evening when I am home, and at least asked this question before missing three days of show.

Did everything that was suggested, and even recorded a 15 minute segment of O&A successfully yesterday. Programmed again to record RF today, and says "nothing stored". Trying again for midnight replay. What a waste if it won't record, that's why I bought it!

Hope yours starts working.

Mine has been working great right out of the box. Even took it with my Tuesday night in the car. Got to listen to a half hour or the show each way on my drive.

Do you have it in the home dock? That's the only way it will do scheduled recordings.
