LINK TO STORY

This may be a first for Bush. In the past, he has had issues with admitting mistakes. He has made vague admissions, but this is the first one I know about, where he is specific about a blunder.

At a joint news conference with Blair, after three years of war that has killed more than 2,400 Americans and thousands of Iraqis, Bush was asked what mistake he most regretted.

The Texan said that he regretted saying "bring 'em on" when responding in July 2003 to a question about the Iraqi insurgency.

On Thursday, Bush said the remark was "kind of tough talk, you know, that sent the wrong message to people."

He's still an idiot, though...

"I learned some lessons about expressing myself maybe in a little more sophisticated manner, you know. "Wanted, dead or alive"; that kind of talk. I think in certain parts of the world it was misinterpreted," he said.

Misinterpreted? What the Hell kind of message was he trying to convey, that they got wrong? It will be interesting to see what the new, "more sophisticated" Bush has to offer.

After all he has fucked up, all we can get is a vague non-apology apology about a glib comment.

Bush doing press conferences with Blair is always a mistake for him.

Blair is so articulate, so polished, and Bush sounds like a complete retard standing next to him.

he's a cowboy! you would think history can teach you some things but it's so true as the saying goes about 'repeating it'... I watched the history channel yesterday and the guerillas, gangs, groups in Afghanistan kicked the russian army's ass over a 3-4 year period til the russians gave up the fight

Its somewhat surprising, I know he's had some scandals recently, but they seem to be nothing too serious. And he still bitch slaps the House of Commons on a weekly basis during "PM question time" on sunday nights on C-Span. But I know the war in Iraq was extremely unpopular in Britain, and after 2+ years of troops being there and not enough progress to show for it, he's likely a liability for his party at this point. And that being a Parliamentary system, its best he steps down for his parties prospects.

I love Blair, a truly great politician. Wish he could run for office over here.

If anyone has a chance, watch his speech he gave to Georgetown University on C-Span. Great stuff.

What's up with our coalition of the willing? We're all our friends at? Are they still with us?
A stupid comment. And America lets him get away with that shit? I've come to think of America as a nice girl who can't seem to help but date pieces of shit - they don't get what they deserve, but they get what they ask for. They WANT to be lied to. They want to be disrespected. They want to be treated like a Japanese teenager in a bukake flick.

When I was in Egypt and Jordan I had locals telling me all the time that Iraqis were violent by nature and needed a strongman to keep them under control. I'm beginning to think that Americans just need a dictator. They need someone to think for them. Democracy is too much work for us. Bring Castro to the White House. Team him up with Karl Rove and he'd have higher approval ratings than Bush.

Fuck it.
