View Full Version : Something wasn't right today

Besides Ron runnung a bit late, it seemed he wasn't in a good mood, and as far as I could tell, he didn't speak to Fez directly for most of the show.

Am I crazy or did anyone else catch this?

I stopped listening at 2 p.m., so I don't know what happened after that.

I'll have to listen tonight but I've learned to not read to much into what goes on during the show.

I posted in the listening thread about how bad today's show was, and how let down Ron seemed that no one was picking up the slack for a lackluster day. Maybe it was just that everyone was looking forward to the long weekend, but it was a really disjointed show today.

Even the callers were awful.

i agree that something was wrong - especially in the first hour.
Yeah it sounded great and fresh when Fez opened the show, then Ron came in and instead of asking what Fez was talking about he just went '866...' I think the pre-weekend buzz fell on the studio today since O and A also did a lackadaisical show.

I wanted to call in and say I miss the Fez and East Side Dave show.

The aspects of the show were very wrong in a lot of aspects...

The cues of the show were all off and very sloppy, almost like someone new was running the board...

Ron was very, very, very angry for some reason. It wasn't a bit, he was in a bad mood and it showed and it turned into really bad radio. He was lasering Earl and Dave for every little thing that went wrong, and just destroying callers.

It wasn't a fun show. In my years of listening to O&A and R&F, I've never heard a show that made me uncomfortable listening to it.

The only two bits that were good was Earl with the matches and Chipples... I didn't hear Jivey, but seriously... something was REALLY REALLY wrong.

Were there supposed to be any...uh...meetings lately that might not have gone well?

We're going to have to start listening to the bumper music again.

Based upon what I heard...which was quite disturbing to hear mind you.

I think that something happened behind the scenes prior to the show, though it was came right to the surface when Earl decided to do a shorter intro music piece than normal so Fezzie and Earl were left to start the show without him. I think this mis-que threw both of them off and they had to adjust.

The other thing I noticed and I don't know if anyone else did except for someone else in the listening thread was that Ron and Fez had very little direct interaction with each other until the end when they were doing the news.

They probably hate these kinds of speculation threads so I won't even draw up an idea of what may have also occured off the air, just guessing based upon what I did hear. Fez was near speechless for a good portion of the show, and Ron was very quick to move things along with the show right out the gates.

My only hope is that it was just interal issue that is over already or will be soon enough.

Also, the thing that bothered me was that listeners were calling in and calling Ron out on the air for being late. Give me a fucking break. For all the shit they do for us, we can't look the other way and pretend it didn't happen? I tried going with that bit, yet people kept calling in and asking him why he was late. Why blow up the brothers spot?

Maybe something from another show (O&A) effects them directly. You guys used to rag on me for knowing so much about other shows.I don't KNOW THIS as fact, but stumbling on this thread at midnite Mon I'll guess that it means R&F are going back to 11 am to 2 pm,because, face it,O&A get burned out to hell trying to cover 6 hours of radio. So my logic says that it's simply a matter of getting shifted around again.Thank me later.

My complete and utter speculation is that Ron was running late and
instead of just playing a second song to stall for time, they went on
air which exposed Ron's lateness to the suits and the listeners.
Maybe Fez got a mis-que that he wasn't on his way up yet. I think Earl is responsible for the music,so if Fez gave Earl a signal,it's between them. Fez didn't sound too smooth,so I worry and so should you.

It was late last night
I was feeling something wasn't right
There was not another soul in sight
Only you, only you
So we walked along,
though I knew there was something wrong
And the feeling hit me oh so strong about you
Then you gazed up at me and the answer was plain to see
'Cause I saw the light in your eyes
