So, good morning, how are you?

Stumbling around on the internet this morning I came across this propaganda website that goes against everything I have ever thought.

http://thinktwice.com/

It seems that according to them every vaccine out there that is designed to help the population, like a tetanus shot or the polio vaccine, does nothing but kill, maim, and destroy. The polio section has a study that shows that after people started to administer the shot the number of polio cases went up and everyone died. The tetanus section, which is what I was searching for since I just got a booster shot yesterday and my arm is a tad sore today, had all of these lovely confessionals:

[Tetanus 103] I developed reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) following
a tetanus toxoid vaccine. I have very little use of the entire left
side of my body, and the disease now appears to be moving into my
right hip and leg.

[Tetanus 214] My friend has an immune disease and was given a tetanus
shot, starting the onset of muscular degeneration. She and her mom
attribute her rapid decline to the shot.

[Tetanus 245] Are there any studies on overdoses of the tetanus
vaccine? My daughter had three tetanus shots within 1½ years, and my
son had two within this period. She was diagnosed with Lupus, and now
he has asthma and an immune system disorder.

[Tetanus 284] When I was three months pregnant I cut myself and was
"required" to get a tetanus shot. My son has been diagnosed with
cerebral palsy and attention deficit disorder. He also has grand mal
seizures, an enlarged liver and heart, and made no growth hormone at
birth.

[Tetanus 294] I went to a health clinic for a check-up and was told I
needed a tetanus shot. I soon became pregnant and miscarried in my
second month. My husband and I were distraught. I became pregnant a
short time later and miscarried again. Since that time, I had another
miscarriage—my third in my first year of marriage.

[Tetanus 301] In October, I received a tetanus shot. In December, I
became pregnant. Our beautiful son was born 9 months later quite
suddenly by C-section after a severe bleeding episode. Unfortunately,
he passed away two days later. He had a deformity that begins in the
early days of pregnancy.

Eesh. Every section has stuff like that on there. So, grand conspiracy to kill the population and fund the drug companies? Are we all being killed? I don't think so at all but at least the site is an interesting look into the way some fringe people think.

I haven't gone to any conspiracy websites but, I have a few friends in the medical profession and they have amaaaazing stories of the dangers of Milk. The shocking effects of various meds, and also how C-section births cause a shocking amount of health problems for both mother and child.

Every SINGLE thing these people have told me 5 and 10 years ago has been proven true and/or accepted recently. It's frightening.

Fark posted a similiar link yesterday from a left-wing site how the "religious right" is "pressuring" the FDA not to pass an HPV vaccine that could help prevent cervical cancer down the road because it'll "open the door to premarital sex".

Of course, the left wing and right wing farkers just teed off on it.

Just stupid.

That's what I hate about the blogosphere. There can never be a fair, moderate site that analyzes both sides of the situation.

I wonder how these people would feel if polio and smallpox were still around.

Here's a good story: Up until the beginning of 2005 the World Health Organization and the Rotary Club (biggest financial backers of global anti-poverty efforts) declared that they believed they were going to finally wipe out polio from the world by the end of 2005. Then some Islamic fundamentalist leaders of a governorate in Nigeria declared that polio vaccines are a Zionist plot to sterilize Muslim children and forbid vaccinations in their area. Well, wouldn't you know it, they had a polio outbreak that spread up through africa to Sudan and Egypt, across here to Yemen, and over to Indonesia. So a couple of thousand children are now dead or crippled for life becuase of some religious fucking whack-jobs.

Since I wrote about the outbreak here I got asked a few times if the outbreaks are true, and a couple of times I had educated Yemenis who heard about the conspiracy theories and asked me about the American organizations who say that vaccines are bad. Ah, pride and shame - the yin and yang of every American abroad. All I could say is that, "Yes, we have crazy religious assholes too. Now vaccinate your fucking kids unless you want them walking around the streets on their hands begging for change!"

Did you know that fluoridation is nothing but a communist plot to sap and impurify our essence?

There are people who call themselves Doctors who get $50 a head to attend their meetings selling this bullshit and the snake oil remedies that go along with it to the local idiots.
Amazingly, these same people will tell you that the drug companies are trying to screw you out of your money.

One born every minute.

My 12 year old niece has just come down with shingles. Half of her face is purple, her eye is swollen shut, and she's in a lot of pain. Children never used to get shingles; they'd get chicken pox and if the virus reappeared later in life it came in the form of shingles.

Since kids are now required to be vaccinated for chicken pox more and more of them are contracting shingles.

I don't see how this is a good thing.

Since when is it "required"? I didn't know there was a vaccine, but for chicken pox, it seems to be one that's highly unneccessary for healthy kids.

Schools in New Jersey won't admit children who haven't had the chicken pox vaccine. They're so worried about outbreaks that I don't think they understood the alternative.

I've read scary data about the MMR vaccine (mumps, measles, rubella) causing autism in perfectly normal, healthy babies.

I've read scary data about the MMR vaccine (mumps, measles, rubella) causing autism in perfectly normal, healthy babies.

From what I understand, that's a lot of scare-tactic skewed-data from people looking for a solution to what causes autism.

The problem is, the autism spectrum has widened so much that almost anybody who skews out of a behavioral norm can be at the very least deemed "ADD" and at the very worst called autistic.

I read up on it, you're right. New Jersey is one of the few states in the country that does not allow you a philosophical objection to the chicken pox vaccine. They only allow religious objections.

NJ Politics - wonderful.

That seems so silly .... when these 'outbreaks' were formerly considered to be just another part of growing up.

I had chicken pox when I was younger. I stayed home for a week. No one really cared. It was just something to deal with.
