Is it just me, or can you hear ESD running the phones during the show? I think Ron or Fez' mics might be picking him up from an open studio door or something.

Either that, or ESD has officially taken over my subconscious.

It's not always Dave. You hear it when they are talking to Earl. Earl is in a separate room than R&F. When they talk to Earl, you hear the phone screeners in the background.

i always hear the call screener (whoever it is for the day) when Earl is speaking. the phones must be right next to him and his mic is picking them up. i think its funny because i am sure ron hears it (he hears everything) but doesnt say anything. but, is there anything that could be done besides hanging up a sound dampenig blanket? or a wall which we know is not going to happen.

Earl and the phone screener are in a seperate room and the latter is indeed right next to Earl. It's extra annoying when the monitor is on because you can't hear what the people on the phone are saying so you have to talk a bit louder than normal. The screener should really have a headset to make things easier.
That reminds me of a bit from the wnew days. They played very faint laughing on a loop in the background. Most callers got the bit, and said they heard nothing. One woman called in and did a mimic of the laugh. R&F took her laugh, and looped it for about 2 solid minutes.

The best ESD contribution to the show is his retarded chirpping laugh, in the background, when Ron hits one out of the park. If nothing else that's Dave's strongest bit.
