When they first mentioned it, I think they talked about a tour and a studio audience. And yes... I think it's on the 20th of July. I'd really like to go.
I'd like to see the boys again.

The first time the mentioned something I heard something about a tour,
but last time Ron said something he just mentioned the DC people
associated with the show, like Perry, getting to come visit. If
they are letting people in, I wish they had annouced it sooner, its
difficult for me to get time off on short notice.

I've always been curious but have never thought to ask, Do the boys still have the same open door policy at XM like they had at WJFK? as far as listeners being able to just come by and hang out at the studio while they are on the air?? I wasn't sure if XM allowed that or not. Just curious

That date again: Tuesday, June 20.

If you want to go, you need to send an e-mail to ronandfez@aol.com and tell them you want to go. I think limited numbers are allowed, so if you would like to go, I would e-mail soon.

i think this is a great idea. R&F go on tour for the summer. As long as the show in DC isnt permanent. Also, how about a show live from somewhere like the hard rock? or the harley davidson cafe, etc.

I want to walk down New York Ave. with a sign that says, "White People are so Scared of Black People."

And by the way.....The XM studios are right off the New York Ave. Metro stop. It is NOT BY ANY FREAKIN STRETCH a good neighborhood, but it will be during the day and their is always safety in numbers.

So, cane pole gangs should be limited. Real gangs on the other hand............godspeed on your journey......

Word to your moms

Seriously...this is a good example of the "pussification of America." That area might not be Georgetown, Adams Morgan or "The New U," but it is really not the big scary place people paint it out to be.

Maybe this should be it's own thread, but perhaps this should stay here

BUMPER SONG SUGGESTIONS FOR THE DC VISIT

"Chocolate City" (we know that's going to be a given), but if Earl wants to really show off and get some major cool points, how 'bout something from Chuck Brown, or Bad Brains, or Dag Nasty, or Fugazi as well. DC legends.

If he wants to go pop, there's always Good Charlotte. Or country, there's no one better than Mary Chapin Carpenter. For Opera, there's our native sister, Denyse Graves. Or soul, why not some Perrynoid.

Actually, that does open it up for Bobo, The Bouncing Balls and the very musical Bitz. Mmmmm...Bitz.

And, of course, if he wants to get into Ron's kitchen, and really make sure he has a really unpleasant return to your Nation's Capital, then there's got to be Starland Vocal Band. Why people have such hatred for such a catchy little one hit wonder song about fucking in the afternoon is mind boggling.

If Earl wants to send a message, then they could always think outside the beltway and go with the stupid ("We Built This City on Rock and Roll"), political ("You Dropped The Bomb on Me"), cheeky ("Should I Stay Or Should I Go?"), wisful ("Downtown), mean ("Burning Down The House") or the hurt feelings ("Town Without Pity"). Actually - maybe I should be sending this to Bob Dylan for Themetime Radio Hour.

So many choices - so few breaks.

Instead of just absolutely NOTHING. Even if that response was "Sorry, there's no room for you."

Who handles their email?

I think Earl is too busy dealing with real problems (Dave) and cannot respond to all the DC fans (all 7), so be patient. When certain roadblocks (Dave) are removed (Put in the loony bin) or otherwise neatly taken care of (sent to Iraqi rape-rooms) then the buddies I'm sure will personally respond and tell us each how much they love their DC fans (crickets)... Just kidding I know we're special...
