I wasn't able to find a second source on that story. It's almost as if somebody was making up stories in order drum up anti-arab sentiment. Aren't there enough true stories to do this already?

Edit: isn't "no homo" over already?

But nobody even had to "automatically assume it's bullshit." It was disproven that fast.

I really don't understand the logic at all in what you're saying. Since it wouldn't be a huge surprise if it was true, it's not that a big deal that someone is essentially lying through a fake news story? To just encourage untruths about another people? So the best way to battle moronic racist hatred...is with moronic racist hatred?

So from where I stand, I think George Bush is a monster that is slowly stripping away our civil rights. Thusly, if someone made up a realistic sounding story that he suspended the right to trial for any and all American citizens, and after it was proven completely untrue, me saying that it's not a big deal since it sounds like something he'd do anyway and is just an extension of something that's already happening, that wouldn't annoy the hell out of you with the blatant ignorance of such a line of thought?

And please, don't make it like I'm turning this into an "America's the real enemy" diatribe. I don't know much about you except you seem to be a pretty staunch conservative. I'm just hopefully finding an example of just how ridiculous it seems to me to casually brush off blatantly false and hateful fake news stories because it satisifes any personal biases I may have. This could have been about Iranians, Americans, Germans, Asians, penguins, WHOEVER...it was shitty, hateful, racist propoganda, and it's wrong, no matter who it's done to.

but the world cup ban took place in Somilia, an African nation, not Arabic. Iran hasn't banned the World Cup. Unless I read the story wrong. Which I don't think I did.

Well, it was a horribly written story, not even mentioning where its taking place until near the end, And we all saw that title of the thread and assumed, and it was easy to believe, and then I make a comment, thread derailed, and that's where we are.
