<p>i'm sure there are plenty of things that affected many that would be nice to change, but i'll keep it personal.&nbsp; my wifes father many years ago slipped in the shower in the middle of the night and knocked himself out.&nbsp; on the way down though he hit the water to the hot max.&nbsp; he died from the burns and body breakdown a few days later.&nbsp; i'd probably change that so her dad didn't die when she was 8.&nbsp; i've never lost anyone that close to me and couldn't imagine not having my mom/dad around for those years of my life.</p>

I don't think that would be nearly as helpful as you think it would be. And you'd lose a lot of beauty in the world too. People are always going to kill in the name of religion whether or not they have a holy book or not. And the bible might be the most influential cultural work in human history, if you think about all the art, literature etc.

Actually, until Judaism gained a wider audience, no religion actually taught that theirs was superior. It's a fairly recent innovation. People killed each other over everything else over other things. And actually, part of the reason that Judaism and Christianity gained so many converts is because they taught that they were superior to other religions. It's a really powerful idea. It then becomes like hanging with the cool kids and people want to be a part of it, so they convert. <br><p>
What's my point? All of this is ingrained in homo sapiens themselves. It would be inevitable. It's human nature. Then it comes back to ChimneyFish's idea.
