Dear Ron, Fez, and Earl   This past week there have been more than the normal amount of cum guzzling rascist shitbags calling in.  I am asking that maybe for a while you just dump outta the damn calls.  Its ok when someone says something funny, witty, retarded, and yet helps build the "pyramid".  But Lately there isn't anything funny about these ass-hats.  I am not saying to deny they are there.. and I am one who will defend someones right to say something, no matter how fucking stupid, to the bloody end.  But there is a venom to some of these people, a sick pleasure in slipping it in.  I have recently taken to setting my stereo up at work so everyone who works near me can listen and quite a few do.  But some people, who are my friends and happen to be black, I can see it in their faces that it doesn't make them feel warm and fuzzy.  Hate is the worst thing humans have to offer, and it is the only motive or drive to these fuckers.  There is some sort of hate-buzz they get from doing this, and I hope there is some way to defuse it.    Even wierder is listening to the replays of O+A  this week, even today, people were gunning for Earl.  I don't fully lay it on the Pests that carry over from O+A but... well... thats all i will say.   You guys don't just have a radio show, you have die hard fans, and have built a community, this is the house that R+F built.  Maybe dumping out everytime isn't the answer, but maybe someone from the show could tell me how to deal with it better.  It kinda embarrases me to hear these backwards backwoods fools think they are cook for spouting the most inane form of hate.    Thats my 2 cents.  I haven't seen anyone else post about this (recently anyways) and was hoping to hear what people think.  peace an chicken greae.emPulse

I hate to characterize a whole group of people like this, because it's just as bad as being racist, but I lived for four years in Rhode Island. A great number of people are unfortunately like that and worse there. I don't know what it is, being colossal dicks is just in a lot of their bloodstream. And just to add, RI is one of the bluest states you'll find. 
There are plenty of lovely Rhode Islanders as well.

Clearly, those guys are assholes, but they marginalize themselves through their comments. The boys certainly can dump them, but it's better to show what fucks they are by exposing their comments. The racists want you to take them seriously, but their ignorant, perceptual-level conclusions show you what kind of animals they are.

Don't forget Ron is the Puppet Master, it is his act.. he has been on the radio way too many years to put on a fake show every day, he uses them to release his sadistic side without him saying the words... they feed him deeply.

you guys are right i guess. just maybe this is a phase , or the moon is in a special asshole alignment.  Ron does wield his mighty sword of ass-smashin wit quite well, I just have to say i feel bad for earl sometimes..  maybe its the bleedin heart tree hugger in me.   *and the one fucker started bashin the Pixies also today,  Thats when i drop my granola and wanna beat some heads in.

I don't really get it.  On O and A that type of humor is done intelligently and with a point, when the callers are being blatently racist and hateful they are hung up on and made fun of.  Same as on Ron and Fez except they get a lot more of the stupid racist calls.  It's not like Ron has a problem blasting east side dave with every irish stereotype in the book.  I know its a bit, but what's the difference in making fun of that but racial humor is going way too far.

Difference..its the venom.  its the hatred behind it.  some of the best times i have had were when myself (pure scandanavian snowflake), my friends Jason torres (donkey rider), Wilhelm (german/pure honkey) and Eclipse (brother from another mother)  used to hang and bash the shit outta each other for every little thing. every slur in the book.  But we are friends it was done with love.  It would never bother me if done with love behind it.  Sort of like the difference between "roasting" someone, as comedians due as a show of respect, and walking up to chevy chase on the street and telling him everything he ever did was a flaming bag of shit, and you wanted him to know you would never get those hours back you lost watching Fletch.if that makes sense.

Yup - I've been in a car with a friends a couple of times recently (one of them black) that I felt the need to over explain why a caller into a radio show I liked used, for no apparant reason, the "N" word. I have never advocated useing the dump button, but in this case (as a nuclear option) I agree that maybe using it to just eliminate from the show the most offensive and hateful moron every once and awhile might not be a bad idea. Not every time, but just the obvious scumbags.These are people who are not fans - who do not want to be part of a community - who just have an agenda and want to prove to their friends that they can be just as shocking as the people on the radio. And I have seen it on terestrial radio shows where the dump button has been used to get rid of the agenda element, and with time it works. Shaming them with "Ani" or "Randy Newman" or tearing into them about how dumb or southern they are doesn't work because they don't care.

That's a good point that gets overlooked here.  People like to bash O&A listeners but no one just yells "Nigger" on their show either.  The jokes can get much more racially charged but it's never done in the hateful way these loser callers do it on Ron and Fez.  I mean we should probably blame O&A's fanbase to an extent but we can't condemn them all.

I think it's great when there isn't hatred in the statement... when it serves a comedic purpose. He can be good at holding a conversation on the air (he can also be bad at it, but usually he's pretty good), but Earl's job isn't supposed to be a funny third mic - he's not a stand up comic, and it shouldn't be on him to have to respond to unfunny shit heads. Enough with the racist crap.  The callers that try and use it as a joke have no IDEA what the show is about.  Think thats what fustrates Ron the most.The pests think and want the show to be a continuation of O & A.  (before any of you bash me.  I have been an O and A fan almost and long as Ron and Fez.).  I prefer Ron and Fez because they can entertain without always resorting to that small part of comedy.  They know where they want this show to go and when and what type of comedy is nessesary at which point.

I did not intend for this to be a blame thread, wanted it to be a discussion of what the fans think should be done (not that we have any real say anyway).  I guess in a way I wanted to hear that Po was gonna be dispatched to each individuals home with a pillow case full of pool ballz to re-educate people.  But i realize that is just my fantasy, actually my fantasy involves Po, a thong, some cooking oil and a shower curtain, but that is neither here nor there.

i think ron has shown what he thinks about the non-stop racism calls from his reaction to the guy from RI... and by non-stop i just mean that most days a couple of the racist calls slip through....i think the best way to deal with these callers is complete indifference.  say nothing back, hang up, and continue the show.   occasionaly call them a piece of shit, apologize to earl and move on
