What is they board policy on sharing recorded shows ?

Do we need to be sneaky or can we come right out and say "I have such and such a show if anyone needs it? "

I know that a lot of people miss a show now and then, and I also know that at least a few people record the shows. With the miserable (lack of) replay schedule that XM is giving us now, I don't really see a problem sharing a show once in a while.

I am assuming that most of us out here subscribe to XM so we wouldn't be sharing anything that we wouldn't have access to legally if XM was giving us replays like they originally promised.

By the way. I was scanning the Board FAQ to try to find a policy on this and it states that there is currently no internet streaming of the show because Infinity shuts them down as soon as they find them. Isn't it time the FAQ was updated to state that XM does stream the show, along with all of it's programming ?

As long as you are an XM subscriber you can listen to the show live or in replays online, and there are plenty of good recorders that you can use on your PC. Windows even has one built in I believe, but as I remember it only records a for a limited time (like 30 mins or something). I use a great program called Total Recorder. It cost me about 29.95 about 3 years ago and I've gotten every updated version since for free. It's a little tricky to configure at first, but the help files are pretty good. It helps to have someone knowlegable in PC audio to help set it up. I'm sure there are other programs out there as well. If R&F were on Audible I'd just buy the shows for a few bucks, but we don't have that option.

Sharing shows is illegal and the mods have come down hard on it when its out in the open. I think this matter would be best discussed on AIM, rather than on internet sites which retain and archive requests for information.

The FAQ's and what not are outdated. No sharing of shows allowed here.
I just mentioned that it said that Ron and Fez weren't streamed on the internet, which is clearly not true. There is a perfectly legal way to hear The Buddaaays streamed on the internet.

Yes, the faq is outdated. I take full responsibility for that. The policy is that while underground feeds of the show and the sharing of show audio likely do exist, these things are not discussed on the boards. Ronfez.net does not endorse the illegal streaming (as opposed to the legal internet stream that XM provides for paying subscribers) of the Ron & Fez show nor the distribution of audio from the show (the exception, of course, being the audio that we make available in the file library with XM's permission).
