All is well in the Catonsville Highlands (cause we're high!), but the river between Ellicott City & Catonsville is REALLY fuckin' high!!!

There really shouldn't be any problems in DC itself unless you live in the....non-residential areas....or in Georgetown or Anacostia. That's how egalitarian we are; the very rich and the very poor get it equally.
These storms have been craaaaazeeeee. The one last night was pretty impressive, but man - the thing that rolled in Thursday night and stuck around for 3 hours was really quite scary. Several times it sounded like legit explotions outside (not something you want to hear when your neighbor is the Pentagon!) Metro is closed due to flooding between some major points - Virginia rail is closed all day - the beltway/95 in Virginia was closed in both directions for 7 + hours because of a 5 foot high mudslide!

On Saturday, I was playing golf in Centerville. We literally finished as the first drops fell. On the way home, you couldn't even see in front of you on 66. Then last night, the courtyard in my condo was underwater. Thankfully I didn't get flooded.
AJ - I was going back and forth on whether or not to go to yesterday's Nats/Orioles game in Baltimore; the SUnday morning news was giving me nothing to go with. We ended up going, assuming for the worst at some point, but they got the game in without any problem, and the rain didn't even start until I left, hitting the BW Parkway South, and really didn't oepn up until I got to Arlington.

i used to see grass outside my balcony, now there is a lake. Forecast predicts more t-storms all week. I'll be hiding in a dark room with my Zomig.

I could swear I've been through at least 20 worst storms in this area in the last few years, but man, this one flooded the drainage area behind our home and got a ton of water into our basement. Fortunately, we unclogged the drain outside the basement door and it stopped the flooding, but a bunch of boxes and shit were soaked through. What a mess!

Just checked where I have my dingy docked, to bilge out the water. The lake is full of trash and debris. Every single gatorade bottle or six-pack stringer ever littered on it's banks in a swirly mucky mess in the middle. On my ladder fixing a plugged gutter yesterday, did not see the new Bee condo....started banging gutter spikes back in, pissed the Bees off...stung right on the eyelid and cheek. Almost hit myself in the face with a hammer, swatting at the Bees standing on my ladder in a lull during a lightning storm. I immediately realized I must be retarded. Other than that all is well.

Hyattsville, MD got 10 inches of rain in 24 hours! Here in Winchester, I think we got about 5, but we're expencting another 3+ by the end of Wednesday.

Hi guys-believe it or not, my girls started swim lessons this morning at our neighborhood pool. It was pouring so hard, and my two year old was screaming because she didn't want to get it-so I said, oh fuck it; i'm soaked anyway and jumped into the pool in my clothes and held her in (no....not under) until she stopped screaming. Those other wussy mom's were under the eating shelter drinking coffee. Apparently, they only stop lessons for lightening. Other than that, our phones were blown out by the lightening on Thurs. night-but THANK GOD the internet stayed up! stay dry.

I did some calculations, if this were winter, and it was snowing, we would have 96 feet of snow on the ground without any drifting

It was almost like the good Posiden Adventure on the subway this morning. I almost got to put my hand up Shelley Winters' ass.

No problems here in Ellicott City...
But they did close down 197 yesterday briefly (the road I work off of) and parts of 29

Leaving was kind of iffy - parts of Georgetown Pike had running water and mud going across the road, but thankfully the rains let up and stuff wasn't too bad going back down GW Parkway home. The heavens opened up when I got home - hopefully luck will strike twice tonight.

In Vienna there has just been flooding in low areas. The rain has done wonders on my pepper plants, it's gonna be a good harvest this year.

To be honest, ive lived here almost three years now, and I have never actually been to the town of Ellicott City proper(where the courthouse and stuff is)...I live right off of Interstate 40....aka the land of car dealerships, fast food restuarants and grocery stores
