We want to go there July 14 - 16.

Atlantic City hotels are so worthless, they are charging more than I could get a room at the Bellagio for in Vegas. $250 a night for a pile of crap Econo Lodge or Ramada is way too much (after taxes).

Does anyone have any hidden motels or hotels I should call to try to get a nice dirt cheap room? Anything that doesn't have a website but has some cheap rooms?

We are looking for filth, just someplace to stay at the end of the night that's near the boardwalk (max 2 streets out because after that you're in the ghetto), between the Showboat and the Tropicana and cheap.

Its not that they are worthless, its that you're going on a weekend, when its gonna be packed like mad. That same room on a Wednesday night is probably 80 bucks
Try the comfort inn on rt 40. it's only 3 miles from the boardwalk. I think you can aroom for about 120 on a weekend with AAA discount.

I guess I am ruined by how nice Vegas is and how cheap you can stay there. I know I could go on a weeknight and pretty much stay for free, but that's not an option.

PhishHead wrote:

Ballys is $159 for the friday and $179 for the Saturday, dont go during the weekend.

Where do you see that? I am coming up with $230+ a for both nights.

Check these towns....they are all with 10 minutes of Atlantic City and decent areas.

Absecon, Bringantine, Ventnor, Ocean City, Egg Harbor Township

Also - if you by chance play poker... if you play for 8 hours total at the Borgata (the hottest casino in AC) you can get a room for $40 !!!!

I stayed at a Comfort Inn once. The pillow smelled like some black guy wiped his ass with it.
