Lenay has a great personality for kids radio. She's always been gold on RNF, and I've turned my 8 year old daughter on to her Saturday show. My kid loves the music, and loves Lenay. She feels like there's a bond somehow because of the age and the simplicity. When she listens to the XM Kids or the Disney radio, there is no connection. She likes the music, but she asks me to switch stations during the breaks. She's not into the loud, over-produced, contest driven hype that is the main theme during the breaks. She wants to hear the songs, and likes to hear the Disney Kid actors she's familiar with on the TV. That's why she likes Lenay's show. She plays good tunes and relates well to the youngsters that are listening. XM could do alot worse with a music host for their Kids station!

doesn't it make sense to have kids programing a kids channel, after all would they not know what kids would want to hear? or am I just crazy?
It's like Dick Rude said the other day in regards to Joe Strummer. We aren't able to get fringe music anymore on commercial radio because its all about the mold that the corporate types want to feed to the sheep-like masses so they can sell more fabric softener! That's why the internet and Sattelite radio has arrived at a perfect time. Now kids CAN program their own stations for other kids. We can all get a good dose of the alternative tunes we never hear on the public airwaves... Whether it be 'B' Sides of great Rock N Roll Singles, or some obscure underground band from Albany that would never see the light of day without these new alternative forms of media. I say Hurrah for Sattelite Radio, and Hurrah for the internet!...

It's all about the PeeNoid. Big fan from Day ONE. I enjoy Crazy Jen's show very much whether she's good, bad or otherwise. Lenay has her own style and her stories are interesting. One time she laughed hysterically when her dad,Mikey D, walked into a wall during the show, and it was like a circus I guess....not the Cosmic Circus.....but a sort of Family Circus. But I guess we'll never hear from Lenay again since she's running off to Hollywood with the stars in her eyes. She does a fine radio show, but chances are other projects will come before a future show on XM Kids.We already know she can do it. I've been a loyal listener for about a year...almost 50 shows.

Personally, I think it's crazy that a little girl knows how to program a kids show better than an adult. The girl's brilliant, she's using the internet to do something she got interested in thanks to Ron and Fez, and she's really proving that a kid can perform pretty complex tasks, like come up with their own radio show, and be more sucessful than some corporate schlock kids show that's insulting to kids. Good job, Lenay!

She is very good on radio. I think she makes R&F better every time she's on. She obviously has been given a great head-start in the industry if she chooses such a course for her future.

Ok, now let's wrap up this thread and send it to the Feds for all you Megan's Law peeps!

Sometimes when I listen to Lenay on Ron and Fez I have to remind myself I'm hearing a 9 year old.

I'm amazed at how easily she rolls with the boys, and at how relaxed and at home she is on the air.

If anyone at XM had half a brain they'd give Lenay her own show on the kids channel IMMEDIATELY.

Who could possibly be more in touch with kids than another kid? When you have one who's already a seasoned veteran behind the mic, it's a no-brainer to give her a shot. I hope it happens.
