In honour of our Independence Day, Ron and Fez will be taking the week off, but that doesn't mean you can't talk about the high quality product they will be replaying to entertain you, their loyal fans.

Ron and Fez will return live on Monday, July 10, barring any unforseen alien invasions.
I hope to hear some of the American Idol bits. And Nature Boy Fez on the winner with the double chin and the Moe Howard haircut was classic.

Dammit. They're playing the John Edward episode. That guy is so full of shit I can't believe they bought into this guy. Perhaps my least favorite R&F experience.

Well of course... we're blasted by it with the media and heavily funded enviormental groups on a daily basis. Too much to get into on a listening thread but two things he brought up:

Glaciers melting. Yes, some glaciers are melting. But that is what they do. They move forward, they retreat. That is what glaciers do. Do you know how many glaciers there are in the world? About 160,000. You know how many of them are studied right now? A few, with any real scientifc scrunity. Only in the last 20 years have around 70 of them have looked at. It's a huge leap to say "the glaciers are melting!"

Hurricanes. They're getting worse! In 2001 to 2004 9 hurricanes hit the mainland U.S. 3 were major (being a category 3, 4 or 5).

In the 1990's - 14 hit, 5 major.

From 1940 through 1950 - 24 hit, 10 major.

In fact, if you look at decades going back to 1850 - you'll see a decreasing trend in hurricanes.

Why do we think it's so bad - simple, more people living on the coasts, that's all.

i dont think anything is "so bad" but i do think its happening the majority of the scientific community does as well. I think that the average temp. of the earth is increasing because of the greenhouse effect due mostly to human activities in the last 50 years. I dont think we're gonna wake up one day in the movie waterworld or day after tomorrow. Search global warming on wikipedia for a little information, somethings happening, also along the same lines theres no reason not to get off oil in general.

Also i'm not going off of just wikipedia, i was saying that u should go on there just for some general info and to prove they wouldnt have a complete myth on there. And to say that some how because the scientists may or may not be employed by an environmental group is a bad thing doesnt make any sense since they dont have any thing to gain. The temp over the last 120 yrs doesnt really matter its the temp over the last 50 years and projected tempeture increases and to use your argument are u sure thats true? what are u going of off. Most info i've read about the subject is from national geographic, which i trust and is a good source.

The reason I have morphed from an OnA fan to a RnF fan is, in a nutshell, the difference in the way the two shows interviewed the guy(s) (not sure if it was the same one) from 'An Inconvenient Truth'. One of the interviews was childish and the information given was predominantly from the interviewers, the other was respectful, informative and entertaining.
