I'm not big on conspiracy theories, but it always baffles me that somehow in 1969 we were able to send men to and from the moon but in 2006 we have trouble launching a space shuttle.

Anyone who seriously believes that the moon landing was faked should probably check out this website: http://www.clavius.org/ as it will answer most questions. As for why NASA seems to suck lately, this is some of what it has to say:

NASA is, unfortunately, suffering a brain drain. While it was fashionable in the 1960s and 1970s to work for the space program, it isn't anymore. NASA is scrambling for talented scientists and engineers. There are probably two reasons for this. First, NASA isn't the same organization it was in the 1960s. Today it's more bureaucratic, more like the other government agencies. Second, much of what NASA does today is seen as routine and repetitive. The magical allure of space travel isn't what it used to be.

In high school physics we either proved that they were on the moon, or it was the most incredible fake of all time. There is a spot in the film where the astronauts casually bump into a piece of string hanging off the ship. If you calculate the rate the the strings swings backwards, it is movement is affected by 1/6 the gravity on earth (as is on the moon). The astronauts aren't moving in slow motion. To pay that much attention to detail and to pull of a special effect so difficult at that time seems improbably to me.
Such a witty rejoinder. They give you science, and you just respond that we haven't been.

One thing people always forget is that we have been back. 5 times, with the last one being in 1972. Remember that cool Lunar rover thing?
So I guess you're going to say those are faked too. Because going to the moon is just impossible.

I found it laughable in the first video when the british girl is trying to explain how the image of the Earth in the window is faked, when everything everyone was doing to capture the image is just what anyone would do to try and capture such a shot. All the stuff about what was being said on tape seems to not indicate anything unrealistic.
The second video seemed to have more compelling images that seem to clash with reality, especually the background stuff and the two hills, but the moons lighting is unlike anything else, because if the reflective quality of the soil. It is because of that quality that the moon is so bright to us! People can see by reflected moonlight on earth! The camera facing a shadowed LEM or astronaut had light reflecting from it or the astronaut holding the camera. This reflected light illuminated shadowed images.

Unless you went to an Ivy League School or maybe Stanford you should educate yourself. And besides that just because you disagree with what the government and its agencies doesn't make you uneducated. I could blow up all of your theories with historical fact. That's what I base my opinion on. We haven't been to the moon in 35 years. During this time the Cold War is still raging on and also nobody else has the capabilities to reach the moon? Highly unlikely. No England, Germany, Japan, China, France, etc. I could've swore Bush said we were going back to the moon not too long ago. How much progress do you think has been made in that endeavor? And whoever said we will go back once China has the capability to reach it. That makes absolutely no since whatsoever. If you could live on the moon it's bigger than anything else ever discovered and you think we'll get motivated once China begins to explore? I find it very odd that we've gotten ourselves into a war and now space is all the rage. Does Iran or N. Korea remind you any of Russia? Probably not to you. My feeling is that within the next twenty years if we still have problems with N. Korea we'll claim we've been on Mars. Then they'll say "Oh, well we can and have been as well." So everybody can stop with the history references. I do not want to hear about Sputniks, U-2 spy planes, Yuri Gagarin, Neil Armstrong or anything else cause I already know it. Use your fucking head. The Soviets reach space and a week later so have we. How does that not sound like two 9 year olds? Plus, I'm sure with your high level education you know that there are theories there were two other cosmonauts sent to space before Gagarin with their fates being totally opposite. Thanks. Come again.

I think there is one point on folks education that is very valid. abortedfetus went to Miami of Ohio, which is the same school Roger Sweet, the dude that created He-Man went. I have a masters in History from Miami University of Ohio. Anytime you want to put your GED up against my degree we can. Thanks. Come again.

As a fellow historian, I would say you're taking events out of context. I'm not denying there was a pissing contest, because there undoubtedly was one. BUT, that only gives us motive. I don't see how you get from that to the moonlanding being faked without more evidence than the bullshit that's out there. The Space Race was subject to political pressures - but some were more committed than others, which accounts for the fact that we caught up to the Soviets who were ahead of us. There's a whole bunch of other factors that have contributed to us not going back. The decision was made in the 80's to transition to the shuttle program, which has been operating continuously since then, despite the Challenger and Columbia accidents. Those were the only interruptions. Connecting going to space to war just isn't accurate. But the reason they've shifted to an emphasis on shuttles is long term sustainability in space. The plan all along has been shuttles - space station- building better craft in space/building something more permanent on the moon. Plus, how do you account for the whole Apollo 1 blowing up on the tarmac and killing Gus Grissom and Ed White? I suppose that was faked too and they're living out their days in hiding. Or Armstrong really died and Apollo 11 blew up. There's NO credible evidence it was staged.

ok first of all anyone sho says in space there is only one source of light, the sun, is fucking retard. the moon itself is a light source. it reflects sun light extremely well so that people for thousands of years were able to travel without a flashlight. secondly and should be finally there is an experiment that is being carried out to this day on the moon. it involves lasers being refracted and some other shit that i just dont remember, but that doesnt matter cause that laser is pointed toward earth and right now there are scientists who all are making living staring at the laser coming from the moon, if you want you could find these guys and ask to see the laser and they would let you. period. thank you mr d 'antoni and high school physics.
