I have Verizon DSL. It drops the connection sometimes- to the point of being annoying, but not infuriating.. However, when it rains, forget about it- it doesn't work at all. Weird, since it runs through the phone line, not through satellites, so I don't know why this would be... Any ideas? Any thing I should do?

thanks in advance.

If your phone line gets wet it won't work. Tell Verizon that your DSL cuts out when it rains and they should fix it.

no, the connection is wired..

I think there is a problem with a line getting wet somewhere- now the phone line is not working right, probably b/c of all the rain we just had.

DSL is basically a modified voice signal that is carried on the phone lines much like a modem signal, so it definatly sounds like a signal issue, more then likely noise and that should be able to be fixed, just be aware of possible issues if ou messed with any wiring in the home because verizon will charge you if it is in the home.
i have verizon dsl and my dad also happens to work for verizon as an engineer. but i live in southeast jamaica queens so i get the slowest dsl in nyc. all besides the point i get the same problem as you and amazingly if i just take my phone of the hook and listen to the dial tone for a little while the modem will reconnect. it doesnt always work and it got to the point where i put a speakerphone on my computer desk just so i wouldnt have to go to living room to get the real phone verytime. but its a nice easy fix that works most of the time.

New problem.

My PC lost my mouse.

I have been using a logitech wireless mouse (usb) for a couple of years now. All of a sudden it went dead. Naturally, i thought it was the batteries so I replace them. Nothing. Rebbot. Nothing. Put in a serial mouse. Nothing. Tried add/remove hardware, could nhot do it since the mouse was not seen. All of the drivers are still in place. Thank God I am pretty good with keystrokes, or this could be impossible.

Anyway, can you find my mouse?

This is the extreme, and you may have said this, but did you reinstall Windows yet? If you do that and it doesn't work, then I think it's safe to assume something with your mouse connector on the motherboard went. I'm no computer expert, and I'm not even sure if that's possible, but you need to start doing process of elimination.

Question:

How come sometimes, you click on a link and the new page opens in a new window but, other times, it changes the current one INTO the new one?

Also, how come sometimes (usually when doing a google search) you click on a link and it takes you to a new page, but then, when you hit the back button, it doesn't take you back. It's almost like the back button is disabled while you're on that site.

Are these errors or do these events happen on purpose?
