I just looked up the <a href="http://www.emmys.org/downloads/images/2006emmys/PrimetimeNoms.php" target="_blank">Emmy Noms</a> wow what a horible list of nominationsno veronica mars and gilmore girls still even though they enacted the Gillmore Girls rule this yearand
Lost doesnt have best drama but freaking 24 does now i love 24 but i
love it for how bad it is its silly dialouge but fun action not a good
program in writing or acting

the Emmys decided to change their voting process this year in what has
now become known as the "Lauren Graham (or gilmore girls) Rule," where, supposedly, fringe
shows like Gilmore Girls and Everybody Hates Chris would get their deserved nominations next to old stand-bys like West Wing.

I've been scratching my head over the Lisa Kudrow nom.  Not only was the show criminally unfunny, but she was the Matty Fridays of the show.  She sucked the humour out of the few things that might have even been seen as entertaining.

Did someone at HBO forget to submit stuff for Deadwood?  It seems utterly insane that the Law & Order SVU twit gets a nod and Ian McShane (Al Swearengen) gets nothing.  Ditto for writing (TWO Grey's Anatomy's here?  While I didn't see either, I have sneaking suspicion it's not quite as subtle and multi-layered and goddamn brilliantly victorian as even the worst episode of Deadwood).  And Trixie or Calamity Jane surely should've made the supporting actress list.  But I go on about Deadwood.  (But seriously... I haven't even seen critics belly-aching about Deadwood getting nothing.  Seems like after the season ends and then the two 2-hour movies close the series out, we're going hear all sorts of "Wow, what an amazing show" etc from the critics... grrr) I think the nom's for the prez & wife on 24 are right on the money.  They were outstanding. I agree with all the Lauren Graham love.  I won't say that she should win every year, but she definitely should be on the list every year. Grey's Anatomy?! What the? Bullshit got some noms.  It'll be fun to see how they handle that on the Emmy broadcast... I'm hoping for real bleeps instead of some clever word play (Like Penn uses on his radio show -- "Bull's .... Hit"). Mariska Hargitay claims to not own a TV and not watch any TV... and she's a TV star.  I say next year they add the "Mariska Hargitay Rule" -- no watchie, no winnie.

It's absolutely absurd that there's no Lost at all. What do they think it is? Desperate fucking Housewives? Lost, 24 and the Sopranos should have been DOMINANT. I've always thought the West Wing was fucking awful. Aaron Sorkin at his coked-out yet self-righteous worst. But I guess a lot of people like it and it is going off the air. 
At least Desmond got nominated for best guest star.
